Is 8m really enough for the course?

For me, I will start a business.

at the end of this thread, you'll end up more confused than you were courtesy of nairalanders and their know it all attitude. don't be surprised that some of them that will advise you don't even have upto 100k in their account or ever ran a successful business. just follow your heart and do what you believe would be best for you
Typical Nigerian.
Now, you have started confusing the OP.

What has having money got to do with these.
Stop using money as a yard stick for everything.

Knowledge is what is needed here and not money.

8m is much for masters, with 2m you are done with masters depending on the school immediately after MSc go for your PhD,sometimes the business might fall, what will you use to pay your workers? some of those people that their shop got burnt at Ochanja market they have not recovered any thing till now, that's business.
There are many opportunity in the education sector, August last year my school recruit 400 staff.
If you insist on starting a business you better meet someone that studied business management for proper advice.

To become a Pilot, 8m can’t carry u till CPL, unless u have external support. Otherwise start business.

Go open your business and stop that imaginary aviation career, almost everyone wants to be a pilot but 99.9 Pilots are not qualified.

that they dont have 100k in account doesn't mean they cant dish out good advice... some nairalanders are very smart, just that most have not got the opportunity..

What course did u study?
What are you inclined towards.
Being a pilot is good, I don't know how much it costs and the different stages b4 u can be certified to man a plane.
I would have advised u go into business but it has to be a dream and passion within u to run a business and that is why I asked the second question above
If u have more money than the 8m, u can go for pilot cos they are well paid but find out from pilot to guide u of the terrain in the industry. There is a pilot school in kwaara state I think. U may go for additional course overseas.
U can always do a business and do Msc.
I did MBA (Saturday only and it's a 2 year program all things being equal).
May be u invest like 6.5M in secured investment while u use 1M to start a business after much enquires.
Once ur business picks, u can go for ur MBA.
U can learn a skill ( not classroom/ office skill).

M. Sc does not guarantee you a job immediately, so it's best you run both ur M. Sc and biz at d same time. Made that mistake, my biz suffered cos of my M. Sc program. Done with M. Sc now , but still job searching and no money for biz again.

your school recruit 400 staffs and pay them how much? So he should not do business cause ochanja market burnt? Are you even reasoning? Are you aware he may not even get a job for years even after doing masters and PhD? Op two things. If you want to be rich, and boss of your own and control workers. Business. If you want to depend on salary and become a slave for the rest of your life. Do the other.

First learn a skill(plumbing , welding, barbing, hair dressing ) or any other high demand skills.. then go for your masters in Canada , Australia or Germany.. no matter how bad it is you can get your masters and get some income through your skills , this income can pile up and you putting for your PhD or other coarse and continue working and learning , I can tell you for a fact you would be better off than bumping into business in Nigeria without previous experience

First convert the money to dollars and keep it. With the low oil prices and the upcoming depression, your 8 million might be equivalent to 10000 dollars next month.

Forget about being a pilot. There's a lot of unemployment amongst pilots. Education is a good investment if you are going to further your education in a country that allows you to easily migrate and provided a clear path to citizenship and permanent residency.

I won't really advise you to start a business in Nigeria now as the economy is seriously shrinking and with the coronavirus pandemic and falling oil prices, more people would be plunged into multidimensional poverty and the middle class will seriously shrink.

Business is the way sir. And try to also invest part of the money in landed property.

You can spread the 8m on running your MSc program, getting landed property and running a business (it is advisable that you start small till you master it)

God bless you sir.

Go for business oooo. Start poultry and fish farming...

You have too much money.

You can do storage business. Buy honey, palm oil, fio fio, cocoa, melon depending on the one you decide after explanations and enquiries from experienced people.

Relocate to a first class country like Canada. Do your MSc and start a business from there.
I think you can secure grants in developed countries like Canada to assist with your pilot training.
Be wise. Don't return to this shithole unless you want to establish something or go into politics, in future.
8M can secure all you seek. Information is all you need.
