It kills it as hand sanitizer; why can't it kill it in the lung?

awhybliss:
Since sanitizer (water+alcohol) disinfect/kills Convid-19,
Why can't alcohol kill the virus when is in the body system, I learnt it stays in the lungs, but alcohol pass through the oesophagus to the body system which mixed with blood and transport through the capillaries to the lungs, ideally can't alcohol kill the virus in the body system, since it kills the virus when it's on a surface or on our hands.. even after mixing some percentage with water, not to talk of taking it raw..
Rate this!
But make sure you do have any proof or fact why it won't work ? No guessing.

By the time it gets to the lungs it has already entered the cell after binding to its receptor on the cell (angiotensin converting enzyme) and started the process of replicating itself. At this point it is active and alcohol cannot have any effect. On external skin and metal surfaces, it is vulnerable to heat and chemicals like alcohol that can melt/dissolve its membrane (covering) and render it noninfectious.

If alcohol cannot kill it when it reaches the longs... Why can heat kill it?.. Like it is been pandled around in some medical literature even if it reaches the lungs, if you drink hot water.. It can kill the virus... Also are you of the opinion that once it reaches the lungs.. It becomes indestructable?.. Thanks

Actually, there is a lot of false information being peddled about this period. One challenge is that this pandemic is new to scientists and it is still evolving.
Even if it has been peddled in literature, it has not really been proven that hot water kills it. Hot water in the lungs is not even good because the that is not where it is meant to be.The lung is a respiratory organ and not an organ for taking in water.
About the virus being indestructible in the lungs, there is an issue with viruses. When they get to the lungs, they take over the cells and begin to make copies of themselves. These new copies begin to attack other cells and multiply and this makes it difficult to destroy them totally even when a drug is developed.

Antiviral drugs are usually developed to reduce the viral load (quantity of viral particles in a given volume of body fluid). They actually work but the patient must be on them as prescribed by the physician.

Stop thinking like Trump. Why can't insecticides kill malaria parasite in the blood stream since insecticides kill anopheles mosquitoes?

It is well... What is your opinion on the lockdown?.. Feasible in a nation like ours?

Lockdown is good but the main issue is that we havent been able to do enough testing to catch up with the spread. Within one month of lockdown we have not done up to 15000 tests. We have only 15 testing centers, with 3 in Lagos and I am not sure if we have been able to validate rapid test kits. Contact tracing was even very poor.

Lockdown is not sustainable as we have a very insincere government. More people will lose their jobs and it will have a far-reaching negative effect on our oil-based economy.

They should just increase the number of test centers. It's now a case of community spread.

I agree... Testing has been very slow zpalliatives to citizens are not fortcoming, and they expect people to stay lockdown... It is unfair.. People will prefer to face covik than stay hungry... People have lost their jobs and more will be lost.. It is really sad

Something tells me anything that's hot in the throat can kill the virus e.g ginger, ogogoro, warm water, even garlic

Lol if alcohol found its way to the lungs, it'll kill the healthy lung cells as well.
