He can, but that doesn't mean He will, simply because we want Him to. He is not a robot, He has reasons for doing and not doing things, therefore He can't be manipulated into doing things according to our own terms. He sees the bigger picture, we don't. So whether you like it or not, His actions aren't dependent on what you think about Him.
