*Date : 18-05-2020

Theme: Delight yourself in the Lord*.

*Read : Psalm 37 vs 4-5.
*37:4 *Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart*.
*37:5 *Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass*.


Memorise : Psalm 37 vs 4.
Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

*Psalm 119 vs 16 : I will delight myself in thy statutes,I will not forget thy word*.

To delight in something or someone simply means to exalt him highly that you pursue him,over and above any other person,thought, or action. It simply means to please the Lord and have pleasure in his will and desires.

Psalm 40 vs 8 : I delight to do thy will, o my God: year the law is within my heart.

To *delight* in the Lord could also mean not pleasing yourself but the Lord.
*John 8 vs 29b*: ... *for I do ALWAYS those things that please him*.
*Romans 15 vs 3* : *For even Christ pleased not himself*...
The reason we must delight is him, I because he knows what you need,and knows the best way to get if for you.
Paul had a testimony of having delight in the Lord by praying in tongues more than others.
*1 Cor 14 vs 18*: *I thank my God,I speak in tongues more than ye all*.

David was another example ,the Bible says of him in *psalm 84 vs 10b*: .....i had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God,than to dwell in tents of wickedness*.

In conclusion, make him your delight today,so that his light can shine through you.

1. Worship God with hymns today.

*Prayer point* :
1. Father don't allow anything to separate me from you in Jesus name.

I believe the delight God wants is our trust, and obedience of his commands ; to desire His truth in all things and to seek after Him in all wise.
