I am a keyboardist in winners church. I lost my mom am the only child. I got an admission,I was struggling to train my self in school with my little gift and hardwork. Things got very bad with me I couldn't pay my small 1 room rent. I am a strong member in winners church aka living faith church since I was a teenager till my adulthood. I told my church of my condition if they could assist me in my rent, though me and my choir member contributes to pay the rent equally.. I told my church about it they played me come today come tomorrow till I was throwned out by my landlord. I went to plead with my church and they said they can only permit me to be sleeping in the church, though I was happy at least I've got a place to lay my head.my experience there was terrible, my church is in express road,no light, from 7pm everywere will be lonely,no security,at night cold and mosquitoes will be the order of the day, the day that I didn't see were to carry blocks as usual,at times I sleep without food..some members and choir guys most times assists me. If I ask my deacons and pastor for help they will always reply me "it's well" or they will buy me book concerning my problem to read and be fortified or the least they can do is for me to wash there cars or come to there houses to work. I didn't feel bad becuz I've an ambition I was still managing to go to school even if I've some clearance not been settled in school.most times I do send some little money to my dad who's in the villa. Am always in every activities am the only keyboardist in my church I play the keyboard, base guitar, and drum, that's how talented I am even without no payment or appreciation am the only keyboardist in my big church with Upto 500-600 members. We hold Ist,2ud,3rd,4th services. My dear fellow nairalanders this is how I've been coping in my life I only sleep at night untill all members I've gone out. Now, considering my condition and how serious and committed I am. My church just told me today after today's service 26th may 2020 that I should pack out, that they have tried to keep me that they really appreciate my service to God. But I should pack out that it's becoming a shame and disgrace to them that somebody is staying in the church, I told them that they should pardon me that this is my ND 2 last semester..bcuz of this covid 19 crisis I could have rounded up and attach with somebody but they refuse they gave me 2 days ultimatum or they will throw my things..I didn't steal not stole there properties or even overused or abused my privilege given to me I am reasonable and sensible becuz I knew were i am coming from. Right now I am sad, through out today I've prayed a lot believing in God, and I don't want to tell my dad concerning he's health conditions. PLS I NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE IN ANYWAY AND ADVICE. God will bless you.

I doubt this story. You claimed that the church threw you out or asked you to pack out after today's service. Please tell which Winner's branch or parish that is opened for service today especially as there's government ban on churches now.

You also mentioned school, please tell me which is school is in session now.

If you want help, why not go straight to the point and stop playing the victim? Cut the chase and ask for help; it saves us time.

Hmmmmm

My brother, if you're that good a musician (playing keyboard in Living Faith parish of 500-600 members means you're good enough), why don't you take the bull by the horns by offering your services professionally for starters? If your current church can't/won't pay, there is no lack of churches in need of a good keyboardist. You can also venture further by trying your hands at music production.

As to accommodation, you can seek the help of well-off parishioners. Surely the body of Christ won't lack one or two good individuals that can do something about your plight.

I can't say anything about the church's treatment of you, bacause to be very blunt, your story seems rather too one-sided.

@OP, if you can't find an immediate solution, can you not move back home to your parents in the meantime?

I think I'm of the same opinion with you above...because I have to open my brain and antenna so wide alert for this kind of story...plus, the brother's English construction hmmm, something doesn't line up within me....not to talk of the fact he's in ND 2....

Hey, just my opinion.....I might be right or wrong!

His mom passed when he was young, so he has only a non-mentioned parent, his dad, still alive, I am guessing. Obviously looks or feels like they both are not in good terms with each other

If you know how to play keyboard well, then look for churches that can pay you for playing instead of playing for free and going hungry. Keyboard players are in high demand in churches. If you are in portharcourt, after the ban on large church gatherings is lifted, I can connect you to a church that needs a keyboard player.

It's your usefulness in people's business venture that makes you indispensable, the moment you're no more needed a real businessman will purge you out like refuse.
Stop attaching emotions to business Sir, there is nothing like unconditional love in business, because the target is for money to continue growing in their bank accounts.
Jesus said you can't serve God and Mammon (Money), your services to any money making venture is tied to the worth of your contribution.
Walk around the vicinity and look for another money making venture that needs your services, you've been sacked there's no need for all these emotional talks my guy be a man, i believe you can do it with or without them, so forget them and move on with your life! undecided

Every family needs a black sheep, as there isn't really anything wrong in being a black sheep, if not its their individuality, of which, they usually get misunderstood for.

Now, as for the white sheep church folks, smh, they aren't as white, as they like to make themselves appear to be and are one of the out there, greatest hypocrites

I get that many of you are afraid but that is not a reason to then "falsely" accuse everyone who comes your way asking, yes, even in this digital age when a lockdown has been instituted in many places, of being a scammer.
Jesus Christ however said you should love your neighbor as you love your own self, did He not? He even said that if you have something and your neighbor asks you of it, do not tell him to come back tomorrow - give it to him immediately. This is in reference to what is also written in the book of Proverb

Proverbs 3 vs 27-28
27. Do everything you possibly can for those who need help.
28. If your neighbor needs something you have, don’t say, “Come back tomorrow.” Give it to him immediately.
Why not choose to TRUST GOD this time, and other times; OBEY HIM as He says you should. Rather than busy your minds with ways of undermining every person who comes seeking help from you?

Even small churches can do the same, after all Peter was commanded to Feed and Take care of God's SHeep. And that is what He and the first christians did.

Did you know that the first Christians are responsible for building some of the first shelter systems and the First pantry system back in rome? Yes, before Christianity was hijacked by greedy Bishops(wolves), Jesus' goal of righteousness was what earned the first believers their nickname as Christians.

That's a mistake my dear, i know winners Chapel long enough to tell you why this is the result today!

During the early 1990s i know most of my friends who joined the church because they needed assistance, and Oyedepo helped many of them back then.

Some as engineers, instrumentalists, electricians and so on. But today the church has grown so big that Oyedepo can't monitor what's going on like he used to back then.
Most of the branch Pastors now wants to be like Papa, they want to ride the best cars (if not private jets) and these means they have to remit money into the church's purse as well as making their own personal gain, all these will definitely affect instrumentalists and other Church workers who also depend on whatever the church is making!

That's what affected our friend now, but back then when Oyedepo was closer to workers in his church, my dear they really enjoyed being members of Winners Chapel! Matthew 13:24-30 smiley
