He has reduced but it is still not enough. I want him to completely stop it and let us see the effects on the HBP condition.

I know that in order to get rid of a habit, it is good to replace the habit with something else.

I am asking the knowledgeable experts on this forum, what chilled drink that doesn't contain sugar, can he use to stop his coca-cola addiction.

I personally only drink Chivita 100% Pineapple, which is supposed to be absent of sugar. I don't take carbonated soft drinks. (Sometimes I cheat with Guinness Malt if I get hungry outside the house)

Sorry to say this .... Since he's addicted to it, even though u replace it with something else he will still drink it ...... The solution now is : replace it and be prayful.ok ? .... I know what i pass through becos of addiction . PEACE

Lemonade, tea, orange juice, or even water (use honey or artificial sugars)

Shebi cocacola get sugar free. I was once addicted too. Couldn't stop easily.

That sugar free wasnt legit for me though. I begin take black bullet coz i could control my intake (coz its alcohol)

Grate some raw ginger, extract d juice in hot water&sieve, add some lime juice, squeeze some raw pineapple juice. You can then make it as watery and add honey to taste. Always keep this refrigerated in bottles for him.
It will help his cardiac health too.

Blend water melon and pineapple or water melon and apple for him, am sure he will enjoy it to coca cola.

@ Op,

Water remains the only alternative for your father.

He needs to know the dangers of consuming carbonated drinks and resolve to break the addiction.


I used to be addicted to Coca-Cola soft drink but now, I can go on for 2 weeks without taking a sip.

Zobo drink (made with natural sweeteners like pineapple) is also a good alternative and this will help to lower his BP.

Ice tea or Zobo drinks without sugar

I understand your concerns but please stop nagging men hate it,what fruits do you dad cherishes that will be a good replacement, but you make sure the fruits are regular on his table.I hope it will improve.

anyone...normal or friit blender..make sure it's always fresh and chilled..he would prefer it to coke.

The most important thing you can do is to make sure your dad takes his BP drugs regularly.
Coke intake does not cause high BP and is thus not going to have any effect on his BP.
I am sure he is not regular on his BP drugs and if so you are leaving the substance and chasing the shadow.
It maynot also be what the average Nigerian wants to hear,after most have been hearing numerous conspiracy theories and utterly nonsensical information of how soft drinks cause a lot of diseases;but 2 bottles of coke per day should not cause your father any problems.
Work on fact not hearsay,lies and fiction.
Don't link soft drinks intake to BP,definitely not 2 bottles a day.
Go do a sugar level test for him.

Carbonated drinks can infact raise your father's blood pressure. Coke contains caffeine which triggers a spike in blood pressure. Your father is infact living dangerously.

Water is the best drink for your father at this point in time.
Hibiscus drink(zobo) without any additive or sugar is another good alternative.
