Its pure spiritual oppression . While i was still experiencing it i decided to test if it is a being beside it or just normal biological experience. One day when i wanted to sleep i put an object on my neck and covered it with cloth. Later i fell into a semi conscious state and felt somebody using leg to check out what was on my neck.

How did you overcome?

I've had it so many times, the last one I had made my mom and dad to rush into the room I was sleeping in; cause I was mumbling something loudly. They asked me why I was screaming, I couldn't talk cause I was ashamed of myself and also because I know how superstitious my dad can be.

When ever u experience it,relax don't try to fight or struggle...sleep back or relax a little longer for the rest of your body to wake up. I know it quite scary but being fearless is d key
Exactly.

I used to experience it some years back but it has stopped.

I don't hallucinate like the op and most posters shared during their experience. just that I won't be able to move an inch and most of my experiences happened in the day, when I wake up or I'm almost awake. I don't usually experience it at night.

It's so scary, cos you'll feel all your senses, you'll even hear voices of neighbours, feel movement in the house, like fan, light, music...etc. apart from your breath you won't be able to lift a finger.

And it happens in seconds, between 10-30 seconds.

I thank God that it has stopped.

I only hear of people saying it
I have never experienced it
(With a topic like this, all senses are alert. My room mate just walked to me with white wrapper. I was startled, but I didn't show it)
Almost gave me a HBP angry

The time between when you tell your body to wake up from sleep and your body is not ready to wake up.

The two times I had sleep paralysis I bit my hand so hard til I bled well thinking I was dying, in my sleep I was trying to wake up but I couldn't, subconsciously I started yelling and biting my hand so dat I could wake up, wen I finally wake up I see blood in my mouth and the injury I've created.... Thought it was demons tho

It can be a very awkward experience. I myself experience this sometimes. If you dont want it again, clear your mind before you go to bed. Also, never ever watch horror films at night because it actually attracts negative spirits to you. They feed on your fear.

Demons and negative entities feed on fear. You be person weh sabi. I feel you, bro. You're so correct.

So many interpretations of sleep paralysis that you don't know which to pick as the true cause(s) of it. From experience, I've seen that at times prayers don't stop it; if you like do deliverance for church, na still the same thing. Its almost like your prayer before sleep was not answered or prayers are just fake. You can wake up and run thoughts you shouldn't run because you may feel you were left weak after praying for that demon to get lost but the bastard still pressed you. At times you are so frustrated you want to fight the spirit when you wake up. Oyinbo call it 'sleep paralysis' and you are like them dey press oyinbo too for night?. Me too wonder o. That shit pass wetin oyinbo fit explain.

i remember back then when i was being pressed, the force the weight of a building and i was shouting Jesus and no sound was made. At times, i won't be able to call Jesus gan so I would just accept my fate and allow the bastard to leave me in peace.

All these drink enough water and sleep early and so are sakamanje. Experience has taught me that anytime you feel any negative force in your room, just turn to your side and that show is over for that bastard. For years now, it is not on records that i have had any sleep paralysis while sleeping on my side but anytime i 'loseguard' come sleep supine then I've handed myself to them to press. I will just wake up, call them bastards in low tone and turn to my side.

Another thing I've noticed for some time now is my ability to be aware of a dream while I'm sleeping with the option to terminate the dream should it become something else while I'm still in the dream. I've terminated dreams over and over and over again, pls who has the kind of experience?
What I do is modify the dream to my positive taste(it has been part of me that I hardly finish dreaming without being close to being awake and continue the dream to my taste)

Re: Share Your Sleep Paralysis Experience Here. by iflylowkey(m): 12:42am On Jun 01, 2020
Don't ever try to fight yourself off from sleep paralysis. It would only make you more scared. Just remain calm and keep saying some prayers in your head, and fall back asleep till you wake up naturally.
Re: Share Your Sleep Paralysis Experience Here. by damtan(m): 12:42am On Jun 01, 2020
I once had a vary experience while I was asleep. I wouldn't call it sleep paralysis because it was really intense.
I had to jump out of bed after some seconds and realised my hand band (a very thick one at that) is cut off already. I saw it on the floor already cut.
Till now, I really do not understand what happened that day. It was a very scary experience

Zornes123:
I recall my dad telling my mom how an evil spirit held him in the bed and couldn’t let him move. The prayer that night wasn’t a funny one. Deep down I knew he only had sleep paralysis.
Well about mine. I saw a Jesus like figure talking to me and telling me to repent, out of fear I tried moving from my bed but this unknown force held me down for some seconds. When I was finally able to move i noticed I had tears in my eyes. This happened even before I knew of the term sleep paralysis. I always told my friends I saw Jesus back then. If it was sleep paralysis or Jesus I can’t even tell

Repent.

How do you modify something you didn't start even to your own positive taste? Its hard i must say.

IceColdVeins:
Medicalnewstoday.com defined sleep paralysis as a feeling of being unable to move, either at the onset of sleep or upon awakening. The individual's senses and awareness are intact, but they may feel as if there is pressure on them, or as if they are choking. It may be accompanied by hallucinations and intense fear.

In Icecoldvein's opinion, sleep paralysis has a plethora of arguments surrounding it. Researchers uphold various scientific hypothesis that represent sleep paralysis as a biological phenomenal, some even insisted that it only happens when your brain wakes up a few seconds before the peripheral nervous complex (the neurons in your body parts), which in turn triggers slow responses to the brain's information by body parts. On the other hand, Spiritualists maintained the notion that sleep paralysis is designed by demons and can only be remedied spiritually.

I used to have sleep paralysis a lot until it stopped, when I embraced some spiritual antidotes.

Below is still the scariest sleep paralysis experience that I ever had......

I heard my ex's voice yell a threat at me, I was scared and tried to get up, realised I was six fts below ground level with a shiny grave moulded untop of me. And suddenly, the skies changed from it's astonishing high resolution filters to the dreadful black and white effect, as it coughed a heavy thunder down my grave....My mummied body immediately knew it was in for it......I tried fleeing from the horrifying dream, never knew a worse comeuppance awaited me. I was thrown into a solid 40 seconds of sleep paralysis.... before I opened my eyes, hissed and mumbled 'Una papa. I don wake up'

Dear NL,
What are your experiences and beliefs about sleep paralysis ? Your inputs may put some people experiencing it at ease.

Kindly share!!

I use to have sleep paralysis when i was younger but i had a very recent one about 3-4days ago
When i was about 7-8years anytime i slept at noon, there was a probability that it will happen
Usually when i try waking up....i usually felt my self been awake...like inside me,my mind and my spirit were awake but i wont be able to move or make sound for mins, all my body would feel numb even to open my eyes was difficult. I will just lie there praying or wishing someone could just come touch or wake me up....i end up forcing myself to come back to life by trying to shake or move my finger...it was a really bad experience growing up

To the most recent one....i was sick about last week....a family nurse came to treat me,i was going to take 2 drips....so while taking the first one, i was busy watching a movie on my phone, i ended up not sleeping. Immediately after that, the nurse gave me the second and ask me to drop my phone and try sleeping...
I slept for about 2-3 hours, only to wake up and found my self calling my mum,she couldn't hear me..i was seeing them sitting in the sitting room including the nurse (mum and sibling) but nor of them could here me calling ,they were going about their activities like no was hearing me...i saw myself screaming..that i even raised up the stool that was close to me and was hitting it on the ground all to no avail...no one was hearing me ..twas a really bad experience cus it happened for minutes...i had to struggle to move a part of body before i came back to reality, for a minute or 2 i was dead....even till now i remember the experience cold shiver runs through my spine.......i didnt tell anyone tho...just kept it to myself

With those multiple episodes you are always at your weakest moments , so sad so depressed and desperately wanting a peaceful sleep.
I found out that the best remedy at such moments is to gather courage and determination to get up and perform some vigorous exercises. A rapid workout that can induce sweating and quicken your circulation always helps me to go back to sleep without further paralyzing episodes that night.
A long prayer before sleep or listening to some verses of the Quran or reciting them always helps.

It happens to kids also, especially during afternoon nap...is it that they re depressed also??

I read about it and how it happens, I experimented it and figured how to snap out of it...

Sometimes I just wanna enjoy the moment a bit longer before I decide when to snap out. grin

If I talk spiritual sometimes it may sounds being ignorance to an unbeliever, now can any of the doctors cure This evil? This is purely satanic attack on humans and it's also an oppression of the devil. I witness it alot before I became born again. The moment I accepted jesus Christ as my Lord are being baptized both water and spirit. It stopped. Accepting jesus is the best solution to all these oppression of the devil. I no longer commits fornication and all manners of sin I was used to. Am free and satisfied with him.

I noticed this evil manipulation call sleeping paralysis has no respect for anybody, graduate oo, rich man oo.poor man oo.professor , leaving in mansions ajah or ajegunle if you dont know jesus or leaving a righteous life you will be a victim...it catches it viticms anytime they are relaxing or sleeping.mine stop forever by the name of jesus and doing his will I.e obedience to his words. Halleluyah.May God Help us from this wicked world.

100 ,and been an Atheist makes it easier, it's the religious folks that start shiit
Why do you lot make it seem like being an atheist is something special? Like it's a sin to believe in God and spiritual things. This is why it's believed that most of you are just proud, bitter sadists who think the world revolves around them. You don't always have to remind people that you're an atheist, you know? It's not some kind of gift or talent.

Wow. Whether sleep paralysis or not. One thing is that the physical world we live is created by the spiritual, mental and emotional world. The three latter worlds combine together to create the physical world. But always ensure you pray to avert any weird dream you have.
