Damage, yes! Irrepairable damage, No! How can the suffering sof someone from the 1800s affect someone born in the 2000s? At what point do black people stop playing the victim card? Yes we were dealt a terrible hand in life but how did people like MJ, JayZ, Puff, Obama and countless others make it in life? Did they not face the same systematic oppression?

Look at black Americans and black South Africans, these 2 groups suffered from slavery and systematic oppression from the white people. This is the reason why other races see opportunities in America but black Americans could not see them. The same thing is happening in South Africa, other Africans go to South Africa and see opportunities but black South Africans can't see the opportunities. So don't you think there's a similarity between the black Americans and black Africans. The Africans on the other hand suffered from colonization which is responsible their inferiority complex. That's why they can't see opportunities in their continent but Chinese, Indians and Arabs can see the opportunities. Nigerians are the most educated ethnic groups in U.S but they are still one of the poorest immigrants in U.S. But other immigrants with little or no education control the economy of America. Africa is the richest continent in minerals resources still they are the most backward and poorest in the world. Why is this? 90 to 95% of Nigerians will die here in U.S without contributing any meaningful development to Nigeria. Nigerians expect white people to come and help develop their country. How can you said you are not giving up on the black Americans after you called them lazy and ignorant. I just don't want you to look down on the other blacks because you have been able to pull yourself up with your own bootstrap. Remember success in America is temporary, especially if you're a Nigerian. Black race are suffering from the effects of slavery, colonization and religion.

This is a rather unfair comment borne out of stereotypes. You shouldn't feel the need to talk if you haven't been there. Don't minimize the suffering of a people you don't know or have never lived with. If Africans were sensible, unlike Americans, how come Africa is still the way it is?

Actually I agree with most of what you posted but these are the things you are wrong about.

1. Nigerians aren't the most educated immigrants in America, Asians are. That was a myth created by a Nigerian.

Why are the American police so afraid of blacks even when they are unarmed but are extremely relaxed and comfortable when they have to arrest an armed white terrorists who went on a shooting spree killing multiple people? Yes inequality still existed but that was the beginning of a more balanced equation. By the 1970s and 1980s, blacks had 70% of their rights back. By the 1990s, a black foreigner could come into the USA and become a land/homeowner in less than 3 years, why wouldn't our black Americans be able to do the same? At what point, do we take responsibility for our action/inaction? My parents came to the USA with nothing, they did jobs such as floor cleaner, maid, car washer etc, my dad pushed himself all the way to work for national intelligence, mom pushed herself to become a distinguished dietician. They faced oppression, they faced systematic injustice but they never stopped, they didn't crawl into a hole and say they can't win, they rose above their limitations. We can all rise above our limitations, many black people do this everyday, the real INJUSTICE is giving up!

Thank you for this. I try to explain to friends that its not that bad here. Just do what's right n mind your business. African-American r aggressive n this is why a white person or cop brings out their own aggression to interact with them. I know understand your reasons for your viewpoint. I pray to God to grant you long life and prosperity for you to see what Im trying to convey to you. I came to U.S when I was I9years old in the late 70s and relocated back to Nigeria in 20I0. I sponsored my primary school education by going to the farm early in morning to fetch firewood before going to school and also on weekends. After my elementary schools education, I worked for 2years to save up money for my secondary school education. After my secondary school education, I worked for another 2years to save for my first year tuition and boarding and travel expenses to U.S. I was a junior students when I met my beautiful American wife in the same university. Im saying this to you so you can understand my background. I set up a business in our apartment while both of us were still full time students. Yes I have brothers and sisters but I don't call them lazy and ignorant because I was able to pull myself up through my own bootstrap.
Yes slavery ended I50 years ago but the effects still lingering on, how do you expect majority of people to be perfect when they still have defects in their thinking? And im not making excuses for their shortcomings. The Africans also suffered from effects colonization and that's one of the reasons why you and your parents probably don't have anything to do with Nigeria. How many of your brothers or sister's or niece or nephew being killed or in prison in America? So as you can see experience is quite different.

These other immigrants can raise billions among themselves, but Nigerians can not because most them are just corporate slaves. About I5 years ago 3 of my colleagues were millionaires by American standard, have nice houses and businesses but today they are broke and have to be assisted by their town's people to secure apartments for them. And also, there was this Nigerian professor in my old university, this guy was a Dean of school of engineering in the late 70s when i came to this country. He had a house with swimming pool, very nice house, the man just passed away 2years ago. The man took a reverse mortgage on his house before he died which means he didn't leave anything for the next generation. Do you call that a success? Countless Nigerians contribute to bury their fellow Nigerians in U.S your parents can testify to this if they hang around Nigerians.
Now, let me tell you what success look like. I have 8 bedrooms, 4 living rooms, 3 car garage mansion in Nigeria and my fleet of cars consists of R350 mercedes Benz, 230 compressor, E350 Mercedes-Benz and Nissan xterra SUV. And a multi millions naira striving business in Nigeria all these are owned by me and my with no credit. That's what you call success not like credit infected Nigerian that you call success. I visit U.S 2 to 3times a year on business trips and also to see my children. As a matter of fact, Im in los Angeles now, I came in January and got stuck due to corona virus but will be leaving once the airports are opened. You will get my point in about 20 to 30years from now. Everything that Im telling you is from my experience and am very sure your parents will have one or two things to back me up on this.

I watched a video clip yesterday where these black Americans are abusing fellow black cops with so much disrespect, So irritating.
