This is no joke, in my previous thread https://www.nairaland.com/5888982/interstate-ban-curfew-getting-me

I mentioned the lockdown is causing me depression, some people said I'm not an introvert but this absolutely nothing to do with it. I'll explain, ave been getting heart palpitations since Feb or so, and I told it's normal and it will go away, but it continued for a long time, about 3 times a day initially to upto 9 times in 10 Mins. For those who don't know what it is, imagine your heart stops beating for a sec and continues, yes I know how is it possible to feel your heart beat? Well it stops you from breathing for a sec! That's how you know. Ave been taking Atenolol and I stopped taking them last week. I took it for 5 days Exactly 3 days after I stopped.

It continued again after 3 days I stopped taking them, but this time I completely ignored it and didn't care. So yesterday morning, while I was cleaning, I noticed it kept happening but I ignored it!

In the afternoon as I was working as usual, I received a phone call from my mom, and I stretched to reach my phone and suddenly I feel off the chair, I quickly answered the call, the next thing my heart started racing! I mean pounding like I was running from something, like oh God! I felt strength leaving me, my hands where trembling, hands cold, I felt like I was sinking to the floor! My sight was fading away, the only thing that came out of my mouth was "Blood of Jesus" God please don't let me die cry I kept repeating this word and my mom was praying. It stopped a bit, I started searching for the Atenolol but couldn't find it, I pored everything on the rack and then I found it, I swallowed a tablet without water then I rushed and unlocked my door just in case my family gets here.

I called my GF on video and she kept crying, her camera is bad but she can see me but I can't, the season continued, for 3 hours. When my family got here we drove to the hospital immediately and I was given 2 shorts of injection immediately, I don't know what they gave me but immediately I felt this peach.. Like blood flowed through my body instantly. I'll be running some tests today and I hope it's nothing serious, I'm not religious and I don't even go to church. But now I know I love my life and I'm not ready to die yet hahahahaha. Depression is real, please the lockdown restrictions should be lifted soon. Pray for me guys!

Forgive my typos, I'm typing this from my hospital bed.

You are not religious but you shouted Blood of Jesus.

That name have saved me from an Accident in the past and one of my agnostic Friends even testified to how powerful that name is.

after being saved now, instead of being more spiritual, you are still saying you aren't religious.

Next time I'll advice you to make your ways right with God.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower, The Righteous runneth into it and his saved.

The Lord hath no Pleasure in the Death of a Sinner, but that the sinner may come to repentance.

Everyday is another chance for everyone for making our ways right and be more prepared.

Congratulations for the now good Health.

Yes I know it's no joke, that's why I'm going for the tests just to make sure it's not organ related.

Palpitation is triggered by high stress level. You will be fine. What you simply need to do is find quick ways to relax your body, even while your heart bears fast. Most importantly, stay away from those with negative thoughts. These are the supersticious people. Think of anything funny to take your mind off it and do gentle breath in excercise. You will be fine

Thanks, I noticed that too. Any slightest thought that makes me worry triggers the heart racing thing, when I got injected I didn't feel even a pinch, my adrenalin is out of range and won't let me calm down.

Its very bad i had it before, any slightest thing would make you pannic, but when i got a miracle from God all my worries left, i started believing God handles all my worries and it just died down, i stopped taking any drugs.
In therapy you just have to believe a higher power is taking care of you thats the best way, Good luck Gods with you

Update: ave been discharged, all results are out and shows I'm in perfect health. I will be taking more injections for a while, I just pray I'm one of the lucky few who experienced this once in a lifetime. Most people say once it happens to you it will continue forever and you have to learn to live with it. Infact there are many Reddit and Facebook pages for people with Panic disorders!

My biggest worry is this happening in public, people will think I have Covid-19 and probably won't try to assist me. Anyone with this problem should please let me know how they manage there's and how often it happens to you. Mods please move this to the health section I beg! Thank you.

Op I think u had a panic attack, something must have triggered it, mayb something your mum said on the phone plus I think u'v been stressed lately. You are perfectly fine but if the trigger is not known or worked on, it often reoccurs which can be dangerous atimes. Take care of your mental health, it's important.

I was yet to pick the phone before it started. The only thing she said was how are you feeling. Panic attacks happens out of the blues, usually for no just reason. I'm still having the palpitations again.

Congrats on your discharge

I advise you see a psychiatrist/psychologist for further management, since it's a psychological thing.
