It’s the end of the road for Obaseki. The best he can do now is to decamp to PDP and hijack the party’s ticket if possible or remain in APC and try to mess things up for the party from within. He doesn’t look like someone that will give up the fight easily to me.

Sadly, I really don’t see a path to second term for him even if he decamps to PDP and hijack the ticket. He is finished politically. If he can’t get PDP ticket, I will advice him to take the Ambode option and quit the stage honorably.

Go to PDP with the same tijaaed qualifications? Oshiomole is the National Chairman of the party with the backing of some very powerful forces within the party so invariably he will always have his way within the party. Presidential election is different from gubernatorial election.

Approach differs and more people hoping to benefit directly from local elections like governorship get involved in the latter.

It is only in this part of the world that a sitting governor wants to dictate how the process of selecting the next governor should look like. Yes, Osho baba made some big time error but he Obaseki also made bigger ones by fighting the power that be.He could and should have waited for his 2nd term. As it is, I hope he won't be politically useless after now. Check his arrogant cousin the person of Ambode. He case might even be worse because we don't practice the proper and well defined democracy in the part of the world. It is the worse form of governance as far as I'm concern.
