If you're wondering why the trio of Oshiomhole, Tinubu and Buhari are the most hated politicians east of the Niger, this is one of the reasons. From sacking their 'son' GEJ from office, to fücking all their favourite politicians - Atiku, Dino and Saraki hardcore, rubbishing the aspirations of whichever politician they show any glimpse of sympathy for - Ambode, Adeleke, Fayose.....now Obaseki don join the list, haba! This is too much. Even if na me I will hate these irrepressible trio grin grin cheesy cheesy

Funny how Oshiomole is the one pulling strings here... crazy! Obaseki messed up sha, coming from one of the renown bini families should have given him the leverage but he didn't carry many along and instead fought those who would've taken the bullets for him undecided

martineverest:
but UI have already clarified the result already
He was not disqualified on the basis of his bachelor degree from UI but on his Higher School Certificate (HSC) i.e. A Level and then NYSC certificate. On his NYSC certificate his surname was spelt as Baseki instead of Obaseki, omitting the 'O'. This was a certificate issued since 1980 - 40 years ago. He never made any move to correct this anomaly meaning he is okay with parading a wrong name as his surname. That's a discrepancy. Coming to HSC, the school he attended said he finished the HSC programme in 1975 but Obaseki himself wrote that he finished in 1976 in the APC screening form he filled. So who's lying or saying the truth? His carelessness cost him. These are minor issues he ought to have taken care of. His detractors in APC would have had nothing on him like they did because it was the UI certificate they wanted to use against him as he only presented an affidavit when he contested for first term claiming the certificate was misplaced but he outsmarted them now by producing it suddenly and UI also authenticating it. He made it so easy for them to get at him.

my brother, obaseki is still the governor..the only way APC can win is rigging.

but APC lost Oyo,Bayelsa, Zamfara/Nassarawa,adamawa to pdp under Buhari

remember,Buhari is neutral here cos he is a fan of obaseki and Oshiomhole

Chief, I honestly hope so... If Inec takes the neutral and professional route come election time, Oshiomhole and APC will suffer a terrible embarrassment.

It’s the end of the road for Obaseki. The best he can do now is to decamp to PDP and hijack the party’s ticket if possible or remain in APC and try to mess things up for the party from within. He doesn’t look like someone that will give up the fight easily to me.

Sadly, I really don’t see a path to second term for him even if he decamps to PDP and hijack the ticket. He is finished politically. If he can’t get PDP ticket, I will advice him to take the Ambode option and quit the stage honorably.

As far as I am concerned, going by this findings, he shouldn't have been a governor in the first place...

No one is talking about those that put him there... Or is it that they (APC) dont do screenings for Governorship aspirants 4 years ago?

In saner climes, people should be invited for questioning and prosecution by now, that includes oshiomole.

APC is not the only party. The only thing is: federal might is not on his side. But if he has the people behind him, he can pull through.

Oshiomole’s APC has disqualified a popular Governor, popular amongst the electorate and by this absurd action, they have given more fuel to the resolve of Edo sons and daughters against godfatherism & injustice. Obaseki remains the beloved Governor of Edo state and the voices of the electorate will be heard, Loud and clear at the appropriate time.

God bless Edo state, God bless Nigeria.
Hope you have ur voter's card for your voice to be heard loud and clear?

He has said he won’t appeal. All is set for him to join PDP. Now, PDP has 2 Senators and 4 out of 5 Reps in the state. Meaning PDP is strong. So if he can whip up sentiment like Benue gov, he can pull through. APC trust the instrument of government but by whiskers, they won Osun and Kogi. So it’s not gonna be easy. Remember APC has no choice because if they had gone ahead with direct primary, court will nullify it. So the best now is to go with indirect primary.

na wa for you o, the problem is not majorly the authenticity of the certs, but the discrepancies in the dates, the year he was actually supposed to grad and the year he graduated, his o level results the spelling of his name on the NYSC cert and a lot of others, obaseki didn't submit any certificate during the last elections, he only submitted afidavites claiming he lost his original certs during movement from one office to another.
There's no issue with his O'Level. UI admitted him despite that result and authenticated it. It is their prerogative to admit him or not. The Nigerian constitution did not say you must get 5 credits to run for governor. There is also nothing wrong about the year he is supposed to graduate. He used 3 years instead of 4 years because he did A' Level and was admitted through Direct entry, which starts at 200 Level. The only valid issue is the discrepancy in the way his surname was spelt on his NYSC certificate, with the initially 'O'. This wouldn't have been an issue if he had been proactive earlier to correct this with NYSC. He was simply careless and that has cost him now.

Let us learn from Obaseki crisis, we should do everything possible to respect the platform that brought us to the height where we are now for the sake of tomorrow and mind who counsel us.

If he gets the ticket in PDP and wins the election, he may be thrown out by the court like it happened in Bayelsa.

If PDP is smart, they won't give him their ticket, they will only allow him to be a dictator of things and people.

So his visit to Tinubu with those governors is not helpful after they boasted Edo is not Lagos.

I feel for the guy but he himself override some protocols as number 1 man in the state.

I political settings, being in this kind of position shouldn't bother one. You're called to serve, if you were refused, stay clear. Else, you're for something else.
I could remember vividly during my days in school, I got disqualified for a position like that SENTIMENTALLY. WHAT A DAY IT WAS, I COULDN'T EAT. Ultimately, I got elected for a better position after two years, I LEFT MY FOOTPRINTS THERE TILL DATE.
STAY STRONG OBASEKI

HOw come they didnt disqualify him when he first ran on d apc platform upon which he became the governor ? What has changed between then and now about his credentials ? sElfish lots looking for people to serve their selfish ambitions. edo people , u would be doing yourselves and ur future no good if u cast ur votes with sentiments. To hell with political parties. our votes should be based on d credibility of the Aspirant. Enough of 'it is either APC or PDP' . we ve been doing this and it has never helped us as a people. every progressive nigerian that wants d best in governance should rise above this party politics that has never helped. By this u re only helping the political gladiators serve their interest. Our interest as a people should come first hence we should not be after d party of the aspirant but after what the aspirant can deliver to the masses
