Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has left his supporters in confusion, by denying leaving the All Progressives Congress. Obaseki had in a pinned tweet on his profile on Tuesday said: ” I have officially resigned my membership of the All Progressives Congress (@OfficialAPCNg) after meeting with the CoS to @MBuhari. We shall continue the battle to protect the interest of Edo people and sustain good governance in the state.” Within hours, his deputy, Philip Shaibu, officially moved from APC. However, Obaseki on Wednesday morning made a U-turn, which appears to have been influenced by Tuesday’s sacking of his chief tormentor and erstwhile godfather, Adams Oshiomhole, by the Court of Appeal, Abuja as APC national chairman. He said: “I have not moved to a new platform yet to seek re-election. My focus now is to control the spread of the coronavirus (#COVID19) pandemic, which is ravaging our country and threatening our healthcare system. This your headline is misleading. Where did he say he has not left APC? How does I have not moved to a new platform means denial of his leaving APC?? stop trying to be clever by half OP. Obaseki watching very well before leaping. Also seems uncomfortable with the support he is getting from ipob miscreants. Trying to study the cases of Saraki, athifku, sani shehu, dino malaye etc. All these got massive support of Ipob miscreants and their cases are now very pathetic. There is no confusion anywhere except in the minds of mischievous people. Obaseki is no longer a member of APC. That he has not joined a new party doesn’t mean he has not quit APC. |
