Not actually I believe it depends on the individual. Remember things like the killing of twins was stopped by missionaries. Of course the Abrahamists (what I call Christians Jews and Moslems) are sometimes crazy but they came with some benefits. It depends on the individual to be actually foolish or sensible enough to detect flaws in his religion.

The Abrahamic religions are malicious ideologies based on fakery and falsehood.

When its said that Christianity and Islam combine to form the worst ideologies ever to set foot on African soil, such is never meant as a mere opinion but is infact a matter of fact.

It isnt an opinion, the history of how these foreign extremist religions arrived on the continent allows such conclusion.

Perhaps we ought to concentrate our focus on real history opposed to the fakery of the Abrahamic religions.

Its pretty simple, we MUST bin all these foreign extremist religions and focus our concentration on reality, African history.

You have taken that outside of its proper context.

Firstly, you really think that isnt you perpetuating a malicious propaganda?

I put it to you that everytime you bring that up, you arent making any real point but are instead knowingly or unknowingly perpetuating a hundred year old piece of propaganda. Now you have been detoxed from that, refrain from using outside of a discussion on Missionaries.

Who were the missionaries?

The missionaries were spies.

Looking at it from a historical perspective, these missionaries all reported back to their various governments.

The missionaries were toxic.

The heroes in that narrative are the Twins and their parents.

The entire story was fabricated and used as a tool of propaganda.

Let's not sully our reasoning with our feelings towards religion. The African religion too in its own way was destructive twin killing was stopped indeed by Mary Slessor I can't stop believing that unless you can bring out hard evidence to counter this "historical fact" the missionaries brought schools and better healthcare (infant mortality and the rest were high back then everything was tied with foolish superstitions ogbanje, curses by the gods and the sort) yes they were assholes who brought colonial rule but if not for these colonialists you won't have had rights, these gadgets you own won't have been there many benefits you have enjoy now would have been non existent, Abrahamic religions are indeed dangerous to fools who fall feet deep into it but face it, it comes with some benefits (though I wish it was Buddhists that came) even Friedrich Nietzsche acknowledged that.

Those religions give man a fake sense of morality which is toxic though but at least keeps violence out of society's way, it takes a smart intellectual to understand that morality is something built like man (the sense of good and evil) but many people are not that sophisticated and it will bad if people don't have a sense of morality. Ignorance is bliss.

I'm not arguing with you, these are the facts.

You come across as an agent of chaos.

If you arent for us (those that want our people to participate in making Africa greater than ever before), then, you must be an agent of chaos on the low.

African history comprises of Agriculture,  Architecture, Arts, Astronomy, Astrology, Commerce, Engineering, Mathematics, Medical sciences, Philosophy, Physical sciences e.t.c

I agree with the spirit of your response, keep hold to our virtuousness it's always been ours in the first instance, and then adopt the African as our God.

For instance, simply by listening to the teachings of our parents/guardian, elders, tutors and well wishers anyone will be able to no the difference between evil and goodness.

For instance, there's god in Agriculture,  Architecture, Arts, Astronomy, Astrology, Commerce, Engineering, Mathematics, Medical sciences, Philosophy, Physical sciences e.t.c

Foreigners came to Africa, found out about our divine principles and called them God.

You, I or anyone else could grow in spirituality or does something so revolutionary that we can become a god.

The African Gods are the only true and proper ones.

Not to be conflated with the Almighty God.

Don't argue with me. Just provide evidence when asked. It would significantly improve your chances of "making Africa greater than ever before"!

My bit of advice, don't be fooled by magical thinking books. Human interaction with the universe is complex and dynamic, anybody telling you they know the secret to it is most likely a fraud.

That's ridiculous. Of course, both Christianity and Islam have its downside but it is nothing short of absurd to suggest that people should not be allowed to freely choose what sort of stupidity they want to subscribe to.

Also, Amujale, what exactly do you think Africans should be forced to concentrate on when it comes to their history?

This quick condemnation of everything white inherited from Pan-Africanism is even more detrimental to the human psyche and the well being of all Africans than Abrahamism.

A serious point against religion is dogmatism in the face of reasonability and in this situation, it is exactly what you are showing.

In your opinion, the African gods are the best gods because the foreign gods are rip-offs of the African ones. That's just absolutely bonkers.

To begin with, I'd love to say that I don't believe any type of religion is worth the amount of time people dedicate to it, but different strokes for different folks.

Now, while Abrahamism has a lot of ridiculous values, ATR is even worse with its unbelievable foundations and extremist stance.

Maybe because you are an African, you're conveniently forgetting the fact that many of these religions subscribed and in some places, still subscribe to things such as female genital mutilation, dipping children into concoction, giving sacrifices to the gods and killing twins.

Today, we might have gotten to the point where Abrahamism is no longer well accepted by people of a particular group, but ATR reached that point a long time ago.

So, your opinion that the African gods should be revived in place of the western god is simply clinging to a delusion originating from your extreme fondness for everything African.

While that is admirable, it is not very reasonable.

I've never felt the need to "believe". Of course I've asked myself the big questions ("Where do we come from", "what's the meaning of life", "what happens after death" etc), but I've never felt the need to believe in something just to have an answer (probably wrong) to said questions.

I gave the Bible a shot; after reading it I'm of the idea that the Christian God is a bloodthirsty maniac guilty of filicide at minimum. The Quran was not much better (let's not even start with some of the fawtas or their basis in the Sunnah), while the Tanakh/Hebrew Bible didn't really offer me any special "insight".

Do I have an answer to the "big questions"? Hell no! But at least I know (or have a very strong inkling) that the answers mainstream religions give are just plain wrong, so I'll have to look elsewhere, or come up with some answer of my own.

So far I got:
- Meaning of life: I don't think there is any intrinsic meaning to life. In very simple terms, as you live your life you'll form your own moral code - you will be your own judge in the end (regarding if you lived a good life or not).
- Where do we come from: Evolution is pretty much a certainty just due to the overwhelming evidence we have (there are animals that have evolved adaptations over the past century, we can literally point to living proofs of Evolution).
- What comes after Death? Good luck with this one. I guess we're all gonna get an answer sooner or later, so if there is an afterlife - see you there brothers!

This was just a quick reflection, which I think it's shared by many of the more secular members of society.

There is no ultimate purpose or meaning of life. We make the meaning ourselves. Read Nausea by Jean Paul Sartre, the Myth of Sisyphus and other essays by Albert Camus too to best understand existentialism (since that's what you mean by what meaning is there to life) but most of your thoughts are one with mine. Though I'm still a little sceptical about evolution and don't even get me started on that rubbish called the Big Bang Theory.
