Hello Nairalanders!
Opay Investments are fraud and scamming people!!

Happy Sunday to you all! Am not here to start giving false accusations but rather am here to state the truth and fact of what happened to me some hours ago and I wouldn't want it to repeat itself or let it happen to another person and keep quiet. To begin with, am not a fan of Ponzi ever since MMM crashed, A lot of scammers have come into existence with Ponzi scheme to fraud people of their hard earned money and this just have to stop. Lazy youths everywhere!

We stop all these Ponzi scammers by reviewing them, so that people don't fall into victim. Just this morning, someone chat me up about Opay Investments and I joined their group. They have 20k plus followers in the group and I viewed their pinned message to chat with their admin directly. One thing i observed in the group is that, no negative comments, all comments are positive and that kept me worried a bit. So I chat with the admin and they sent me this link: https://forms.app/opayinvestments/Registrations
I registered with my details and stated I want to invest with N50,000 and this was sent to me

✨ MAKE DEPOSITS TO THIS ACCOUNT AND SEND A SCREENSHOT OF PAYMENT FOR ME TO UPLOAD IN THE DATABASE FOR APPROVAL AND CONFIRMATION OF INVESTMENT YOU WILL GET YOUR INVESTMENT DETAILS SENT TO YOUR MAIL ✉️ ✨

 BANK NAME : ACCESS BANK
 ACCOUNT NAME : ADEKOYA ADEOLA
 ACCOUNT NUMBER : 1395581246
 AMOUNT TO DEPOSIT : 50,000

After some thoughts I decided to reduce the amount to N10,000 because am not fully convinced and I told the admin and he said no problem that I should send the money into the same account and resent the account details stating N10,000. I did transfer via ATM machine and send him proof of payment only for him to call me and say that, there is an error in the database that I should go and pay the remaining N40,000 for the error to be clarified and I told him to refund my money and he said that it can't be possible. I recorded the voice call!
Please guys, I don't want this to happen to another person and how can we see justice to this. The funniest part is that, the admin has cleared his history and blocked me.

An investment that doesn't have a corporate account is a red flag, why can't they open a corporate account?

You will pay more than 10k to recover your money

MMM never had a corporate account and yet thousands fell for it. Scammers always find another means to scam people, just here so that we can find a way to prevent that

I am sorry people who are scammed deserves to be scammed. If you are not greedy, cautiously optimistic and you get enough financial education it will be almost impossible to be scammed. But if you want easy money, invest in businesses you don't understand and you want extremely juicy returns, you will be easily scammed

I am happy to clarify somethings here, a lot is happening right now in Nigeria, dubious people everywhere, whenver you see a platform that was tagged investment at the end, please it is a P2P and believe me sincerely, it can never last. We are the cause of this to happen. Ask me how, they will tell you invest 10,000 to get 15k or 20k in return, what investment are they using your money for to get your own share? If a tangible answer can not be given. Run for your dear lives

You should have paid through their verified App and not one fraudulent telegram that a scammer somewhere created. In that way you are sure of its genuineness.

There’s a lot wrong with your post OP, you’re warning others about a possible scam and started by vindicating yourself, to be honest the story didn’t really say whether it’s a scam or not but a little misunderstanding between you and them. You didn’t even tell us what you are investing on, cos that may sell you off or make people call you greedy as other scam victims.

Mind you OPay is a legit company and seeing that it’s being ran on a Whatsapp group should also raise the flag unless the offer they gave you was tempting like every other Ponzi schemes. So repost the true story with full details to help us from falling victim

First of all it's my experience that I shared and not what you think or suggest. I uploaded images that any can see and get to know that what am stating is the fact. There is a real Opay company; we all know of that have a platform for payment, transportation, food & grocery delivery. But this so called "Opay Investments" I made mentioned of is not the real "Opay" that they claim to be, they make use of their name and logo to defraud people using form.app online form.
Ponzi scheme will always be a scam and the real Opay company we all know of can't venture into sure kind of platform. The so called "Opay Investments" are using there name to defraud people. So my advice; stay away from Opay Investments because the moment they have received your payment, they will remove you from the group, like they did to me and my friend.

That’s exactly my point, since you know OPay is a legit company/platform for the aforementioned services you listed, then why send money to them just like that without thorough checks, besides you still haven’t mentioned what the money was for and how you would gain/reap from it..
Hard luck anyways, I’m sorry if I sound like I’m not sympathetic but I know what I’m saying tho

Poster, sorry for the loss of your hard earned money. Opay is a legitimate fintech group managing several ventures in Nigeria. However they don't operate any investment plan offline apart from the Oinvest that is accessible via the app. The Opay you invested in a veritable scam setup by some unscrupulous persons months ago. Opay has sent several notices online via social media to warn people about them and disassociate itself from these criminals. I advise that you keep your ears to the ground and ask around before investing in such schemes. Once again, sorry about the scam

at least go and complain to access bank so the scam account can be frozen. this is to stop it from being further used for fraud. that's how you can save some future intended victims. who knows, they may even catch him
