Hacking is an act of its own, just because you’re programmer doesn’t mean you will know how to hack l although you stand a chance though

good to know, because this movies and film series (Cisco in flash and Rio in money heists).


They always potray them as a great programmer that can hack anything at all. I thought knowing some programming Language can make you a hacker, guess I was wrong

Programming to a large extent gives you an extensive knowledge of how computer works. But not a solid knowledge how to bypass the computer, you have a good chance if you can program though.

Just like saying people who picks locks are lock makers It could be true but in most cases it is not. Lock picking and making are quite a different act even though they have some overlap

thanks, I was so excited thinking learning a programming can make me an hacker.

Guess I'll settle for web development, as for web development, please can you tell me the first programming language to learn and the stuffs to download?

I am a core PHP coder but so will suggest you pick as stack and I will suggest you learn NodeJS.

I've read in this forum where they said HTML, CSS are the first to learn! What do you think?

They are not programming languages. They languages for structuring and style content on browsers. But for computer communication you need to understand a language. For a web coder HTML and CSS is a plus. But I basically don’t do any of the two, for most part of my coding. It all falls to which stack you chose. If you are a front end coder. HTML and CSS is a must.

For me I am a core (Backend) coder, so I basically don’t work so much with HTML and CSS. Just majorly PHP

They are responsible for how a website work from the Back. Like saving password, sign up, login. Database records and email functionality and many algorithms to handle data.

Then stick with front end and learning JS as a language.
There are many frameworks for front end designers
ReactJS, VueJS, AngularJs, Bootstrap
All are based on JavaScript.

Learn java script and learn HTML, CSS and those frameworks then you will be a badass frontend coder.

Someone with good of Programming might be able to bypass systems to a certain level.
But the thing is what most people are learning is 'Coding' not 'Programming'.

That is why I prefer Mr Robot. See op hacking is not what you might think it to be because there is no known road to becoming a hacker and you need a deep knowledge of systems, a programming expert is just scratching the surface of hacking. You have to understand how an OS works (Processes, Threads, race conditions etc), you have to understand networking and back end development is not even a tip of the iceberg of this, you must know deeply how the internet works, from transfer protocols TCP and UDP being the most popular (there are probably others because it is possible to create yours) to IP (the thin waist of the internet) down to packet switching and the rest. Hacking is one of the roughest and toughest roadmaps ever which is why CS graduates are the most liable to become hackers.

oh boy. It's not easy

hacking is not easy.
I started learning the basics back in school, using Linux for exploiting vulnerabilities and network penetration, am a fulltime software developer, so really didn't go into deep part, but its fun thou.

Dont mind them jor. To them everything and anything about computer is a programmers job

Being a programmer does not make you an hacker but to hack you must be a programmer.
