I have Sterling, Polaris, piggybank. Sterling gives me no issue but cannot carryout My international online transaction. I was using MasterCard with My Skye bank until Polaris takeover nd My MasterCard changed to verve since then the bank is useless cus they gives issues of everything and customers problem impossible to solve. I use piggybank for My best saving experience. now to replace Polaris, I've just opened Ecobank - they seems to be giving services all other banks are not giving. I'm receiving My bank statement for each day delivered to My mail. without compromising SMS alerts. It works for My international online transaction .

Standard chartered is the best so far

1naira charge for transfers to any bank

No deduction on money

Before I started using them fully; they did a 3k giveaway for opening an account with them

Oh did I say it's also an international bank sponsoring Liverpool?

They are the best so far.

Transfers to other banks gets delivered in minutes

A lot of people are used to complaining about various commercial banks in Nigeria especially the low income earners as regards the dubious charges perpetrated by these Banks.

So I want to ask, which Bank is more considerate in terms of their charges for savings account currently?

Don't forget to tell us your reasons.

Let's talk business

First Bank may not be your first choice but your money is 100% safe forever.

The bank will never go down because it is the only bank backed by the Federal government and the oldest bank in west Africa!

standard chartered all the way, no sms charges, no maintenance charges,no atm card charges infact no charges at all. and their interest on savings is the highest in the industry . Just open e savers account with them and thank me later.

Opening an account with them is one of the best decisions that I made this year...

Let me stop here before someone calls me a Marketer.. tongue

their only downside is fewer branches, but hey who needs to physically visit a bank when all issues can be resolved online because their customer care is top notch... so less need to physically visit the bank ....

What is the interest rate?
Re: Which Bank Is The Best For Savings Account In Nigeria? by ItrendNaija(m): 4:24pm On Jul 01, 2020
I go with GTB because of convenience. I can do virtually everything with *737# without physically going to any of their branches.

Sterling bank.

Those people hardly charge me for transactions.

Ster what They hardly charge you maybe because you are not on their Classic Savings list.. Their interest rate is so unrealisable.. How can you tell me interest rate is 3.75℅ and comes if I don't make withdrawals more than 4 times in a year undecided They just keep deducting charges and never credit even if it's one naira angry

Per annum or monthly

Monthly, provided you don't withdraw more than three times in a month and you maintain a minimum of 100k

Very true ......Stanbic IBTC or Union Bank

Union Bank, error. I never saw myself opening an account with them until last month.

I decided to check them out after making up my mind to port from Access. The fact that they allow you to open an account via their app swayed me. They gave the impression that having transaction and balance limits were the only things I'd have to contend with opening the chosen account type. They never suggested anywhere that I won't be able to transfer money out of the account.

I have wasted probably more than 20 hours since early June on this issue (in five visits) and I am not sure it's solved yet after managing to submit my documents two days ago.

The only time I was able to get into the hall of the nearest branch last month I was told that my account had been restricted and no reason was provided for it. Imagine. And that was after spending a full workday there!

This goes to show that if you don't feel so good about anything for some reasons, even if you can't explain them, it's often better to desist.

Re: Which Bank Is The Best For Savings Account In Nigeria? by careytommy37(m): 7:59am On Aug 02, 2020
Those who screaming that Access only deducts because they follow the principle of notifying you of all deductions, if you have an App of any other bank, use it to check your account transactions over the space of last month. If you have multiple bank Apps, check it for all transactions across the banks then compare their charges and see if they are any different.
The fact they are not texting you debit alert doesn't mean they are not charging you.

My major issue with Access is their poor system portal. Why they didn't just maintain that of Diamond bank which was very smooth is what I don't understand. The new portal is so cumbersome.
