There has been a spike in the rate of domestic violence and violence against women generally in our country today. This doesn't use to be so.

Our fathers never physically abused their wives to the extent of beating them to death or even murdering them. Today's marriages are nightmares.

What happened to our youths, our young men and women? Why are we so vicious, intolerant and mean?

We all know women are a gift, especially to we men, to care for, protect and pamper. They are weaker than us which makes them vulnerable in our society and exposed to different levels of violent activity and abuse.

Modern evidence and scholastic review of the book of Genesis in the bible reveals that Eve was made from a bone taken from Adam's phallus and not his ribs as earlier speculated. This makes women susceptible to sexual harassment and violence as it seems natural for a man to sexualize and to be turned on at the sight of a nubile or grown up woman. This is why we need self control.

The rate of domestic violence and uxoricide (killing of one's wife or girlfriend) in Nigeria these days is alarming and calls for concern. It is unnatural, malicious, evil and should be condemned by all and sundry.

Your wife or girlfriend is your baby, you should treat her like one. You are to love her like you love yourself. You wouldn't hurt yourself no matter how angry you are at yourself, right? It is better to walk away or leave the house for a woman than to raise your hand against one.

She carries the glory and destinies of the next generation, that's what her womb is for. She is someone to be protected because even the devil is looking for ways to hurt her and destroy her. You don't want to work for the devil.

A woman is also said to be a confrontational helper. She will drive you crazy, make you mad, vex you and at the same time turn you on, you need to exercise self control, self restraint and maturity. You are stronger that her, wiser than her and maybe more mature than her but you should treat her like you would treat a baby. Even if your baby make you mad, you would not kill her.

Yes, she is emotionally unstable, cunning, babyish and gullible, but God brought her to you to keep, protect and guard. You shouldn't abuse, use or rape her. Don't attack or assault her.

Control your emotions and attitude towards her. Control yourself, control your life.

SAY NO TO VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

SAY NO TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. IT IS CRIMINAL.
