Yes, the W204 facelift is a big improvement on the pre-facelift. The pre-facelift still had shades of Daimler-Chrysler's poor build quality, but from 2012 is a step up in interior.

In 2012, the C350 got a new engine with 302 HP. The C300 got that same engine in 2013 (but detuned) for about 250 HP. I'd say the 2012 C350 is the car you want, but you're unlikely to find one within your budget, so just look at a 2009 C350 instead. Still a great car.

4matic parts are more expensive than RWD parts, and all the C300's are 4matic, I believe. The C350 is a better driver's car.

2010 c300 is your car,of you are lucky to get a good one for 3.5M
4matic means 4 wheel,ALL WHEEL DRIVE. ( Better traction).

Nothing is wrong with buying a 4matic,difference is spare parts price is a bit pricey than the rear wheel drive.
