Episode 1



Aaqeel looked so angry as he stomped heavily into 'The Allegiance Bank plc.' He proceeded towards the mantrap door, and pressed the green button on it. He hissed and eyed the young security man sourly..., as he arched slightly to welcome him into the large and busy banking hall.



He queued behind few people with complaints resolved at the customer service section, and stamped his dark brown brogue shoes on the tiled floor. He moved forward at intervals as the number of people before him declines.



" Hello,Sir... " He heard a sweet beautiful feminine voice said and the boiling anger within him calmed.



He looked up and his eyes met with the most beautiful pairs of brown eyes. He carefully scrutinized the face from her full brows and cute nose as well as her full enticing lips.



" You may state your business Sir." The voice said again and he was roused from his reverie.


" A-actually... I received a debit alert over the weekend, stating a considerable amount was withdrawn from my current account, even when I hadn't withdrawn any cash." He explained mildly, amazed at how the anger that's been boiling within him vanished into thin air.


" All right. Please sit, while I go through your details. " She said after requesting his details, while he sat looking so enthralled by her beauty.



" It was an error Sir. Your transaction will be reversed in few hours." She stated wondering if he heard her properly.


"O....ok" he said more like stuttering, and glanced at a name inscribed on a sticker stuck on a stand placed on her wooden desk.



" Motunrayo." He mumbled to himself as he admired her name.

" What a beautiful name for a beautiful lady."


" I beg your pardon Sir..." She said wondering if he had spoken to her.



" N- no... It's nothing." He stuttered as he stood up and made his way out of the section for the next customer.

The short note read, and Motunrayo beamed her usual toothy smile revealing her beautiful gap tooth as she admired and inhaled the sweet fragrance emitting from the orchids.


She wondered who the secret admirer was who never for a day failed to send her flowers and notes that has always managed to bring a smile onto her face.



" Morning, babe." Aduke her friend as well as colleague greeted as she strutted towards her desk in stilettos heels clicking the tiled banking hall, and cool gray tote bag that complimented her ruby pink gown.



"It's 7:45 am. You're late." She remarked with straight face as she took a glance on her system.


" Spare me your morning lectures, babe. Well..., my sweetheart asked for a quickie and I can't leave him with blue balls, you know.... not everyone will have a sleepless nights of working their asses out like you." She said and battered her artificial lashes and Motunrayo eyed her in a repulsive manner.


" Wow!" Aduke exclaimed.

" I see you got some new admirer, yes? She almost yelled, and Motunrayo covered her mouth with her palm.


" stop screaming, fool!"


" Ok... Fine... When? How? Who is he? Is he someone I know?. You better start telling me in details now." She said in enthusiasm.


" All right, I will tell you everything, but after work. It's 8am already." She said and they dispatched to their respective post.

" Aaqeel, it's high time you got married. You're almost 35 son." Mrs. Bashir said.


" Mum... Stop being hasty. Soon... I will be bring the love of my life home to you and Dad. And I'm sure you will like her." Aaqeel said to his middle aged mother.

" Son, your mum is right. Bring my daughter-in-law home soon..., Or I will be forced to get to you married to the woman of my choice." Mr. Bashir said in stern tone.

" Dude! When will you stop this secret admirer Abi na untill some other guy snatch that fine babe from you? You better grow some fucking balls." Jide, Aaqeel's friend advised .


" I'm aware I need to face her and express how I feel, but you know she...she's a classy woman, plus, she fancies her career more than any man. Yes, I've found out that about her."



" Look, no matter how career driven a woman is, na man she go still submit to someday. Why not be the man if you love her this much?" Jide spoke in his usual pidgin

Episode 3



Aaqeel accelerated as he drove in his favorite grey Q3 Audi. He pulled over as he got into the large parking space of ' Dine fine restaurant', and took a glance at his reflection on the rear view mirror. He reorganized his dark short curly hair, and straightened his slightly rumpled white tuxedo shirt patterned with black patched lace that brought his chocolate skin into perfection.
He alighted the car and exhaled as he slammed the door, grooving on the beautiful features of the restaurant.



" Welcome to Dine fine restaurant, Sir. I'm Jamal. Do you have a reservation, Sir?" The male waiter inquired with smile.

" Smart" Aaqeel said inaudibly after making brief scrunity of the waiter's attire.

" Yes..., I have a reservation for two" he replied sitting on the Windsor chair.

" Would you like to order anything,Sir?"

" Not now. I'm expecting my woman. We will order when she arrives." He spoke smiling at his words - my woman.

After lots of encouragement from his friend Jide, Aaqeel finally gathered the courage to meet Motunrayo. He recalled how he had gone to the bank on a scorching hot noon during the closing hour. He waited for hours wondering what kept her so long even when he saw other staff exiting the building. He became frustrated that he had to ask a lady who seemed to be one of the personnels.

" Hello. I'm Aaqeel. Do you work here?" He inquired from the lady who seemed to be lost checking him out.

" Hello" he tapped bringing her back from her trance.

" Hi. I'm Aduke. And yes! I work here. " She replied smiling flirtatiously.

" Do you by chance know em.. Mo-tunrayo?" He asked trying hard to hide his irritation from her unending stares.

" Yes, that's my baby girl you asking of. Oh my God! Please tell me you're one of her admirers" she jumped in excitement.

One of her admirers? She has some other admirers? He thought mentally smacking himself.

How could such a beautiful lady not have so many admirers?



He looked up and saw Aduke's arm tucked in Motunrayo's as they walked towards him. His gaze never left her. She looked so beautiful dressed in black straight gown that stopped at her ankle, and Khimar ( scarf draped by Muslim women covering the hair, neck and bossom) and black stilettos.

" Good luck" Aduke said as she winked and flicked her index and mid fingers and walked towards her silver Camry.


" This isn't an official hou, sir." She finally spoke after Aduke drove off.

" I'm Aaqeel Bashir." He introduced ignoring her statement.

" How may I be of help to you, Mr Bashir." She asked acting like the name doesn't sound familiar. Like the name wasn't always boldly inscribed on the sweet letters she receives from the sender who has made it his daily routine to make sure the letters are always delivered to her.

" Can you please let's sit somewhere and talk?"

" I'm sorry but I don't have unofficial talks with customers. And the last time I checked, it's past official time. So, try next time." She said and spun to leave. [i]

" Asalamuhalykum ( peace be unto you ), Aaqeel."
She greeted bringing him back from his thoughts.

" Wahalaykum Salam ( peace be unto you too)." He answered gawking at how beautiful she was even without putting much efforts.

She dragged the Windsor chair opposite him and sat lightly.


" You look so beautiful." He complimented as the male waiter walked to them.

" Thanks" She said and the male waiter smiled as he reintroduced himself and wrote down their orders in a short pad before leaving.


" I must confess but seeing you like this, makes me love you even more. Please be mine. I promise to always make you happy." He said the exact words he's been saying since she started giving him an audience.


" Aaqeel. You're really a good man. Every women's dream man. You're handsome. You have a good career. You're rich. I like you so much too, but my job. You need a woman who will take care of you, your home a-and kids."


" You're the best woman for me, love. I want you. I - I've never wanted any other woman like I want you." He stopped as the waiter served the food and left.
