Chief Charles Idahosa, a former Commissioner for Information in Edo state on Wednesday said Ibrahim Magu, suspended acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has disappointed a lot of Nigerians who are in support of President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption war.

Reacting to the allegations levelled against Magu by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami SAN, Idahosa, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said he has confidence that the panel investigating Magu headed by Justice Ayo Salami will do a thorough job.

“It is very disappointing. A friend of mine forwarded a message to me on Whats App on the issue and when I read it I said, where do we go from here?

“We have a situation whereby a thief catcher is now being pursued by the thief. I read what Mike Ozekhome said that he raised an alarm about Magu’s activities as far back as 2017.

“It is still an allegation for now, let us wait for the outcome. I have a lot of confidence in Justice Ayo Salami, a very experienced legal mind. Let us wait for the outcome of the report.”

Let's keep the record straight and unbiased.

First, Buhari is not fighting any anti-corruption war. He is just on a vindicative war against opposition.

Second, DSS already briefed Buhari but he kept pushing Magu's name to be confirmed as the chairman of EFCC

Third, refusal of the last NASS to confirm Magu was not corruption fighting back as APC claimed even though I don't trust the intention of Saraki led NASS as most if not all are massively corrupt too.

That being said, let me unequivocally also state that Magu is worse than Hushpuppy and invictus joined together.
