I’ve been posting malls on here and there are several retail stores of Yorubas scattered around the West.

I will be foolish to start listing all the retail stores on Nairaland. You should go on google now and type the retail stores in Yoruba states and check the names of the owners.

It’s only a village person that will be asking someone to list retail stores owned by People online when retail stores could count to thousands and beyond. Even if you ask Hausa/Fulani guys, they will have thousands of retail stores to list across their northern states.

A liar and dubious person like you Should not be taken serious. Have you now accepted Folorunsho Awomolo is the largest shareholder in International Breweries?

What you knew Yoruba is the highest shareholders, why did you then lie initially by saying it was Obi of Onitsh and the crook Peter Obi whose name is not even on the list of shareholders?

Lol...you guys are funny.
You created one page listing some Igbo businessmen,so therefore you guys own Nigeria.
The only people that keeps running from their developed states to settle in undeveloped places cheesy

But you do see Chinese, Europeans, Indians and many other foreign businessmen and entrepreneurs all over Nigeria and Africa.
They all left their much more developed countries to come to your shithole to do business.
Have you bothered to ask yourself or ask them why they do this?
It is the Igbo business men you and folks with small minds will keep criticizing because you don't know any better.

If foreigners from developed countries come to Lagos to set up businesses, why shouldn't an Igbo man?

Keep being a dunce and don't tap into opportunities you see around you.

Check out Aba Mega mall.
The problem is complicated and has to do with convincing merchants to accept change.

They all want to continue in old ways

It is not complicated at all. It only requires a governor who is ambitious and passionate for it to be realized.

That Aba Mega Mall at Osisioma is not the sort of mall I'm talking about. I mean large malls that will have thousands of shops that are partitioned with transperant glass compartments. They would be fitted with those small indoor shuttle cars and conveyor belts to ease movement of people and goods.

Humans are naturally resistant to change. If you're waiting for traders at those markets (some of whom own multiple shops they rent to others) to key into the idea, it will not work. All the state government needs to do is to demolish the markets in sections while replacing it with malls until they are totally replaced. For instance, the government will partner with developers, build the first mall for textiles, clothings, shoes and bags. As they are building it, they will notify the traders selling those items that they have a grace period of say three months. Once the mall is completed, selling of those items will be banned in the market except in the malls. Then they move to another section until the entire market is replaced with malls. They should make sure the rent is affordable.

The basic reason why Aba and Onitsha are often filthy is due to so many unweldy markets littering everywhere. Once malls becomes a standard, the outlook of these cities will improve massively.

Yoruba had a lot of renowned and successful businessmen and women like Esan Darocha and his son,Da Rocha who was the first richest man in Africa...Odutola,Sir Mobolaji Bank Anthony etc.

Ahmadu Bello said that because Igbo people keep flocking to other Region like refugees and trying to take Jobs away from the Northerners due to the fact that the Hausas are not that literate then.

That was why he made mention that the Job for the North should only be for their kids and foreign expatriates.

If you study that period, you will see that there are less number of Northerners in the federal jobs also because the Southerners have taken everything.

If Yorubas had flocked in our millions to other regions too, it would have been the same.

It’s a regional government and he has the right to moderate it when Igbo leave their own region to become depended on other people’s region resources.

That is a lie and you know it.

The video is on YouTube.

Ahmadu bello was afraid of igbo economic domination staring him right in the face.

Igbos controlled the palm oil and crude oil rich areas too as part of our regional bloc and had the advantage of a large pool of highly educated populace which meant that dominated the public service.

If that had continued unstopped, your Yoruba ancestors till today would not have seen our brake lights.

You should be grateful to ojukwu. He ruined a good thing.

Though it could be argued that igbo envy caused the igbo pogroms in the north that made ojukwu act.

Ogbeni you think you are talking to a kid here. What economic ability does the Eastern Region has during those days?

Eastern Region is even the poorest region and that is a fact.

Western Region is nobody’s mate at that time and that reflected in the Regional marketing board revenues that showed Western Region are the richest. Are you contesting this?

If The foolish Nzeogwu had not done that coup, the Igbos would have been queuing up in the embassies to see the Yoruba glory of the western region with the trajectory Awolowo was following then.

Yoruba don’t need to run like refuges to the Northeen region to dominate the lesser educated Hausas during those period, we have the education and wealth in our region already.
