Though I felt it was a little bit early for me to drink, I sat down and nodded.

“What drinks?” he asked.

I eyed his beer. “Same as yours.”

He beckoned at one of the waiters and gave orders.

“You must be doing quite well with yourself,” I said, as soon as the waiter went to bring the order. “I can see comfort all over you.”

He smiled modestly. “Well, I manage to get by. You’re still unemployed?”

I sighed. “Yes, and I must say that idleness is killing me. I’ve written many applications and I’m still awaiting positive response. This country is a big mess. Just look at the challenge of unemployment alone.”

I took some sips from my drinks. “That’s cool. Is there a way you can introduce me to this business? Can you show me around? I don’t have the capital, but can you be of help?”

He smiled knowingly. He obviously expected me to say what I just said.

“I can. What are friends for? Indeed, Tony, I can help you.”

I smiled and brightened up. What I studied in the University was English language, but if going into cosmetics business was what would offer me the breakthrough in life, why would I not take the offer?
