An officer of the Nigerian Police Force, Ernest Utuh has narrated how a cash gift from Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu changed his life, ABN TV reports.

Mr. Utuh who was attached to the NYSC orientation camp in Igbere, Bende local government area of Abia state said he had a one-on-one encounter with the then governor, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu during a dinner organised for NYSC members in the state in 2007.

He further stated that the corps members narrated to the then governor how nice the police officers were to them, a development that interested the now Senate Chief Whip, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu.

In appreciation for a good job, Sen. Kalu offered him a cash gift which he said changed his life as a newly deployed police officer who was only squatting with friends.

"When I came into the state I didn't have a place to live. I was squatting with friends. With the governor's money, I paid for 3 years' rent. Most of the properties I bought then was with the money.

"I was full of excitement when I received the money because I haven’t seen that type of money before. I was pressed and felt like easing myself because of how happy I was.

"Ever since then, I have never come across that kind of gesture before even till now. I have been praying him since then.

"People like him need to be around members of the public. Since the kind gesture, I have not met him again. There is nowhere I go to that I don't tell people what he did for me.

Bla bla. These politicians must think we are stupid. Okay, let's analyze. Assuming this story is true, did he really do any other thing than his job of protecting the citizens (as he is being paid for)? Praising these politicians for any little thing they do is quite an illiterate act; it's what they are being paid to do!

But majority of Nigerian youth are stupid now. They are more interested in BBN than governance, they also play with everything, including what they should frown at.

You can say that again, that's why the politicians greatly support whatever will distract them from reasoning rationally.

What the OP said is exactly whom the former governor senator Orji Uzo Kalu is.This is not rebranding him.I worked in his company Slok Oil,immediately I finished school.I was very close to him.Orji Uzo Kalu is very nice and liberal to the core.So compassionate about the welfare of people.I can't say all about him.

Something is not adding up!

I am GUESSING that the corpers are female girl friends of Orji

Hence the handsome reward!

I hope it's not what I am thinking undecided

Is Orji trying to reposition himself to run for the presidency

I don't doubt this man at all. A cousin of mine owns the security company that manages both his companies and his home. He made this guy a millionaire over night. Not only that, one of the guys was asked if he would like to further his education but he declined because he had no formal education before hand.
