Okay You may have heard about Gcam App (Google Camera) which is an Android app exclusive to Google Pixel devices but now ported by developers to other Android devices especially those that are Using Snapdragon Processors from Qualcomm (The same processor that Pixel devices use)
NOTE:
The latest Gcam 7.4 won't work on Android devices using MediaTek (MTK) Processors like Tecno, Infinix, Doogee, Gionee etc.
Will Not work on Samsung devices using Exynos Processors.
Will not Work on devices Using Huawei Kirin processors including Honor devices.

There maybe Older Gcam versions that may be compatible with non Snapdragon Processors but such maybe outdated versions and their performance may be worse than the stock camera app.

Samsung users with Exynos soc, u ve to start praying for new gcam cos that's one disadvantage of the soc, but check xda to see a compatible version

What's responsible for the final effects of an image is done by an AI or software in the camera app, not the camera lens alone. The AI does most of the work. It fine tunes the image, applies a better dynamic range, reduces noise, color reproduction almost same as what you saw or make you make it pop, etc.
The final results from using Gcam can sometimes be breathtaking, you'd doubt if it was taken from your device if it's your first rodeo with Gcam and anyone who sees it and doesn't know about Gcam will automatically assume it was taken from an iPhone

With Gcam camera algorithms, there's an improvement in the photos taken, making it close to looking like it was taken from a flagship device if you use a budget or mid-range device but bear in mind that the better the lens, the better the photos.

Using Gcam in a device that rarely gets software updates is a big bonus, as it'll still make the images better cos it's got its own software to process the images.
