You need to approach this from an idealistic or realistic point of view... In an ideal situation, it'll be best to resign and maintain your peace of mind and probably get another job in a jiffy, (probably one that gives u some desired sanity even if it comes with a lesser remuneration)...

BUT from a realistic point of view, baba na naija u dey o, plus we living in strange times (pandemic, recession, inflation etc)... If u resign without a thriving business already on ground, e go shock u o! To even find security job these days is hard and I'm pretty sure you gat mouths to feed (maybe family, friends, relatives) plus a whole load of personal responsibilities (which if u were living in saner climes u probably won't worry yourself so much about them).

Be patient. Save some money and invest. When your investment starts generating good income then, you can resign. Also, you can start searching for another job.
Don't care about your colleagues. You don't need their validations except if you are reporting to them. If your boss/direct supervisor is not complaining about your work, then you are good. Please, do self-evaluation and make sure you are giving your best.

On a serious note, think well about it. The way your boss and colleagues see you isn't your problem as long as you are ethical and trying your best at your job. However, if there is anything you can change to do ingratiate yourself to your boss and colleagues, do it as long as you are not going out of your way or unnecessarily being a doormat to everyone. No matter what you do, oga way wan sack you go sack you; person way wan hate you go hate you. Just see the stress as compensation for the good pay.

I was in your shoes some 7 years ago; was earning over 300k but had absolutely no love for my job.
It was also difficult for me to look for another job because I was working offshore and could barely attend job interviews.
I saved enough money and decided move to Europe for my masters instead of losing more years, gaining experience in something I didn't want to continue with.
I'm happy I took that decision.

Once you become a slave to money, you will never be able to advance yourself to where exactly you want to be in life.

Please be courageous and polite enough to ask your colleagues to tell you their observed area of your weakness that puts them off. Also ask your boss to be candid in telling you what you are not doing right. This could just be what he is waiting for to advice you. With what they tell you, you can step up gradually but don't sell your birth right.
