I applied for the role of a Data Analyst in Xyples LLC via indeed sometime ago. And I got the below assessment invitation just as you can see below. The truth is that I am not currently in Lagos. I would have at least try them out. Please I am calling out my fellow nairalanders to help me access if this is real as it will help me save Money.. it wont be easy for me to travel from Abuja to Lagos for assessment only to find out that the job is another GNLD.

A company without staff on LinkedIn. I chatted the CEO about the job and he blocked me. Imagine digital marketing role with such elementary test.

No social media activities to show that the company is alive.

Can you see any Nigeria Address on their website or any link to activities in Nigeria? Be wise.

1. It is in a very residential area.
2. Nobody around there knows the name of the company or what they do there. Not even the gateman knows.
When you get there, the only thing they've told the gateman to say is that they are conducting exams there. He knows no further detail.
3. The testing system seems to be too generic. How do you test a data scientist, social media manager and web developer with a computer assessment test that sounds like quantitative reasoning?
Also, in this Covid era, if a computer assessment is what they need, it can be done remotely. If the company is as tech as their website claims then this would be done easily.
The said website (which I think is a fluke) says they are a multi-national data analysis company. If truly they are, a remote test would be easy for them to conduct.

I would advice that you do not go but incase you do please come back here to tell us how it went.

Your message to him was rude, You made him seem incompetent, and tried to teach him how to outsource? That's not how to verify the legitimacy of a business, You did wrong and he was right to block you.

I expected you to emphasize on how you don't know much about the company, little or no media precense, and why the Nigerian address isn't registered on their website.

That you worry for your security.

How was the test and location... Is it safe security wise, I mean any suspicion of things like kidnapping? I am just scared, I got a mail to come for the same generic test next month August... How did they assess for Msc Excel and Power point?

Test was basic generally. It's in a gated close and I went in and came out so...
Excel and PowerPoint is basically based on multi choice questions and they'd provide a mini pc to answer with. If it's a scam, I still can't understand the end point of the scam. I really didn't prep for the test because the lack of online and verifiable offline company presence made me have cold feet.

You get a mail few mins after taking the test to tell you if you make it to the next stage or not. I didn't make it to the next stage because I obviously didn't take the thing serious because of the red flags but I exchanged numbers with someone who eventually did so I'd keep in touch with him and hopefully get more info about them.

I did a serious search on CAC website, there was no trace of the company whatsoever and this is supposed to be a multinational company according to their fake website... I have already reported tie email I received to CAC and I copied EFCC.....I also sent the email to a relative in Lagos in one of the authorities, they are bursting that place next week... I advice all to relax for updates... The scam in this country is already too much, giving us bad names on the international scene daily and I hate anything scam these days.
