Then I'd advise that you have the full tuition minus any tuition payments in your account if the £15,000 minus tuition deposit/payments is what will be shown on your CAS.
Hisgraceapparel:

The tuition was not stated per year. They only wrote £15000 for the whole programme.

You can't pay IHS without submitting your application online and you can't submit your application online without your CAS.
Under the current PBS rules, CAS is usually available 3 months before course start date and because your course start date is in Jan, your CAS might not be available until Oct (3 months before course start date) after the new IHS is implemented.
missnigeria:
Is it possible for someone going for January intake to pay IHS fees £300 before October to avoid paying the new rate £470.

Well said. But what if the ££ didn't crash by then, instead gains more power over other currencies?

What if UK immigration policies gets more difficult for foreign students, tuition fees increased, maintenance fees increased?

I believe that UK must have a motive to make more money through the introduction of PSW, as a way of attracting people thereby putting some means to make money off them.

Well, as you said it's not for everybody honourable sir.

One thing I know is that, In every CRISIS there is always an OPPORTUNITY by either sides of the COIN. For instance you are gaining with the exchange rate, so do I too from the country I am resident in. Many people people lost their jobs this period, many became poor and at the same time some became billionaires during this period while some got mouth watering jobs too. Life has always not being fair at all... There is always no best time. When one wakes is their own morning.

My one cent, if your mind and morale no go fit carry you and if you can't cope better stay put until you are rest assured.

I came in peace ✌️ not in pieces.

Let love lead.

justwise:

Oh well.. i was trying to send money home this morning and looked at the exchange rate...though i'm getting a good value for my ££ but wonder how anybody would want to buy £££s now or take all that money to invest in education in the UK.

The direction of the UK economy will be a bit clearer by April next year..by then we will know whether..

1. Leaving the EU is paying off or the consequences is biting

2. The effect of coronavirus will be clearer then

3. EU citizens will not be able to work without papers anymore..level play ground for everyone

4. Will the £ crash? If that happens then studying in the UK will be affordable to foreign students

5. Will universities lower tuition fees, give more incentives to attract foreign students?

6. Will the UK immigration policy change to encourage more foreign students...e.g the unfair IHS and TB test could be removed?

I rather put that money in a low risk investment while i watch how this plays out then i engage in self studying in my interest area, by Sept 2021 i will be more informed and prepared to study in the UK.

This is not for everyone though ...

No. The only familily that can stand as your sponsor are your parents/guardians. Any other family that wants to sponsor you will have to pay the money into your account or your parents' accounts.

Yes, I believe that next year September is way too long to be in Nigeria. That’s why I suggested Jan 2021 for people that have that option. It’s just 4 months apart from September.

But honestly wouldn’t suggest anyone to wait until September 2021 to clear things up. Nigeria is heading for doom!!!

You’re right @the bolded.
Imagine saving 5m towards £10k tuition to leave by September 2019. Then by September 2019, that £10k is now equivalent to 7m/8m grin grin. Then you say okay let me see if I can manage to get the balance by April 2020. Before April reach, the same £10k will now be equivalent to 10m grin. That’s how you will find yourself staying in Nigeria longer than planned. Meanwhile people over there are cashing out & even praying that the exchange continues to rise in their favour grin

Nigeria will frustrate you honestly embarassed

I think with time you probably going to thank STENON for that reasonably ''unsolicited and insensitive'' advice you are attacking.

This is the wrong time to come to the UK to study IF:

1. You plan to work to make-up remaining fees or rent and bills

2. If you took a loan that requires you to start paying back within a month or two you get to the UK.

If the UK leaves the EU by Jan1 2021 and with the pandemic the run on the economy is anybody's guess

If you have the money without needing part time work then you got nothing to worry about as the lockdown and the restrictions can only give you even more time to concentrate on your studies

I agree with the things u have said however some medical experts believe covid 19 may be worse during winter. January and February are the coldest winter months in the UK so anyone planning to defer till Jan should consider it carefully b4 deciding unless you want to wait till Sep 2021.

However if a vaccine or an effective cure comes out before then it changes the whole situation.
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Skymoore1004: 1:39pm On Aug 01, 2020
There’s a good chance of a vaccine or cure before Christmas. So many pharmaceutical companies are working really hard to ensure it happens.

Some have even passed their second, heading to third phase. This corona era will surely end in this 2020.

My dear, it's a shame seeing how Ghana cedis is gaining international dominance in exchange rate than the so called Giant of Africa.. I marvelled the last time I checked the exchange rates of Ghana cedis against British Pounds, UAE Dirhams, Dollar etc.

I wept for my country.

If only the politicians in Nigeria could bring out the dollars they piled up in suckerways and abandoned buildings naira could gain more grounds and save us the stress.

As long as you've got the complete amount that you need plus some extra as inflation buffer, just count 28 days leading up to your application date. You don't need to make deposits to run your account.

1.If you lock up your money in domiciliary account whether pounds crashed or not it will have little or no effect on it compared to having it in naira

2. I don't see the UK immigration getting harder than what its now considering the fact that they want to attract foreign students

3. Since the introduction of maintenance money it has not gone higher than £200-300, for 3yrs now it has remain the same

4. PSW was introduced for the first time in 2008 and the same year we had recession (I hope this is not a play back of history) making it difficult to secure a decent job with it

Not sure why some posts are border-line painting the option of going to study this September as a suicide mission.

For someone who is not depending on the prospects of a student job to fund their maintenance, for someone who is simply going for a degree and returning to continue their life plans, for someone whose plans are time-bound, for such persons, going ahead with study plans this September is totally fine.

Not everyone is planning to stay back. Not everyone is depending on getting a part time job to survive. Not everyone has the luxury of deferring their study plans. You can share your own reservations about study plans this year based on your own circumstances. Stop making blanket statements. Stop predicting doom and gloom. Stop projecting your fears and concerns (which may be truly valid based on your own personal circumstances)

Let people make informed decisions on their own based on facts and their personal circumstances.

Period.

Well, one of the LAWS of SURVIVAL/ADAPTATION states that : To Each according to His/Her NEEDS and to EACH according to their ABILITIES.

He who wears shoe knows where it's pinching them.

We all are results of whatever decisions we make on earth.

If you think you CAN then forge ahead with your application, if not mellow down.
