Let me start first.
Mine is named The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do In Life And Business. It's a book by an American reporter, Charles Duhigg. Prior to reading that book, I used to have some bad habits that keep re-occuring, sometimes unconsciously. The book helped me identified and change some of my "keystone habits" which were the fountain from which other habits emerged.
So folks, what is that great book that shaped your life or that made you realise something important?
The essence of this thread is help one another by sharing different books. Someone on this forum may desperately need to read one or some of the books you'll share to make a great difference in their life.

Tough Times Never Last but Tough People Do by Robert Schuller

Years ago,I was going through some difficult times, but that book was the first that shaped me into what I am today!

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must—but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow—
You might succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out—
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit—
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

Thumbs up to you Robert for this great book!
God bless you plenty!

No need to think far. It is the same content of the book naratted by professionals. It's in mp3 or compatible format.
It has a unique voice all through the narration either male or female.

Although, windows pdf app allows you to listen to pdf files if supported. Open with the app and click on text to speech icon. There are about five different voices from deep male voice to tiny female voice just that it sometimes doesn't take notes of some punctuation marks, page number, page header and footer. It just read everything on the page. It could be cool sometimes for simple pages

Looks like there are quite lots of readers on Nairaland. Sadly I can't see any one inspired by the great James hardley chase......

"The Dead Stay Dumb"

" You're Lonely When You Are Dead"

" I Will Rather Stay Poor"

" You Never Know With Women"

All by Hardley chase.

Rich dad poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. I was in school when I bought the book and read it. I hated school immediately I read it and my whole mentality changed. It was like I was given new eyes and a new mind to see the world differently . Business ideas began to stream into my head. I will make sure I look for that man someday and have a tall with him, thank him for his idea he shared with the world. I hope he's not dead by then.

As u can see so many other people have also mentioned that same book in this post. That book is just a divine inspiration.
