[quote author=mimilyrics Goodmorning NairaLanders! I did my biometrics on the 19th of March before the lockdown. Tracked my application on the 30th of July and saw this! no email notification till date. Does it mean that visa was granted ? Just curious, I was told by a friend that also submitted before the lockdown that he got refusal via email. Is that the new norm to send refusal via email ? Has anyone experienced this before ? Hopefully I will get an email notification for pickup by next week.

Mine is still in application received by DMC and my biometrics was done on the 18th of march. That means they have even progressed yours ahead of mine. They are not handling it according to date of biometric capture

I actually sent an email(paid service) on the 6th of July to know the status of my application and I was told that my application is being considered and currently awaiting decision. Got another email the next day saying they escalated my case & it will take 15working days to process. I know for sure that a decision has been made. I was just wondering about the new method of sending refusal via email.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by mimilyrics: 8:24pm On Aug 01, 2020
Normally, you don't get your decision via email; you'd have to wait till you pick your passport so I can't confirm that it's the norm now.

What is now your salary?

What is your monthly disposable income?

How many days are you spending for your vacation?

What is your budget for the vacation?

Is your wife working and she will write a letter that she will stay with the children when you travel?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Ibromoney: 12:15am On Aug 02, 2020
If the Husband and wife are applying for TIER 4 and Tier 4 Dependant visas respectively at the same time(same biometric date), can the dependant come to the UK like 2 months after the applicant has started his course of study? Thanks.

Your disposal income is small sha.

I think the rule is your travel expenses should not be more than x2 of your disposable income.....or has the rule changed?

What is the cost of your flight ticket?

U will need to arrange this well.
Please who does the deductions?
How much do u get in your account as credit alert from work? This is important
Then how much are you going to indicate as ur monthly expenses?

Next side, if you are thinking of using money from the business to add because the figures u mentioned are low please do well to compulsorily pay ur self a fixed amount as salary every month from ur company.
U can’t tell the eco any amount and then produce company account and say wahhh i am using so and so amount.
It might be your company, but the ECOs hate that and do not reason like that.
Even as Buhari is the president, he spends money anytime yes from the Nigerian coffers but in the eyes of the law, he has a documented salary annually.

There must be a documented fixed amount that u receive pls, company money is not for ur personal expenses at any time u wish.

Pls pay urself a fixed salary for the next 6 months if u need the business to satisfactorily cushion ur financial grounds for when u appear at the embassy.
. Let the paper trail show for the visa officer to see. The amount from ur job u are calling is low.

With your background refusal in 2018 because of money said not to be yours, you can’t afford now in this new application to just do a lackadaisical application. pls explain the above so we can know how better to guide u

I think they do this now. I received a decision via email sometime during the lockdown. They stated that because the VAC was closed, they had no other option than to send the decision via email and promised to send the hard copy when work resumed.

My employer does d deductions n remits to Lagos State govt.
I get 102k just like I have said before.
Monthly expenses say 30-50k
Hmm, have not been paying myself as d biz is just about 9months old.
Are u saying I should not apply now?

In my honest opinion you should not apply now.
Actually the salary is 102k as that is what the application form question asks.
‘What is your salary after tax?’
Ur disposable income is actually 102 - 30 to 50k which leaves u with 52-72k monthly !
This can’t work ooo....
u can help urself with the business if you can be paying yourself say 200k monthly from there to help turn ur disposable income to about 252-272k with the inclusion of what’s left of ur salary.

Applying with the financial situation u explained, dey will find one story and help deny you d visa very well. U already have strike 1 from previous history.

there are two ways to check the status and application progress.
1. Download tlscontact app - track my application on play store. In the app just input your surname, country u applied to and your passport number. It will bring out your application progress and tell u what stage u are currently on
2. Go to your inbox. There is a mail they sent to you during the application registration from uk visa. Login thru that link and navigate thru it. U will be later redirected to tlscontact website where u can see your application details. From there u can track your application status
