The student community of the Delta State Polytechnic Ozoro is currently embroiled In turmoil after a young man was shot dead following a peaceful protest.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Monday morning when youths carrying placards and chanting “SOS go dey carry POS waka” stormed the streets of Ozoro to protest undue extortion by POS carrying police officers when the young man was gunned down to the chagrin of fellow protesters.

As at the time of filing this report, the corpse has not been evacuated and peace is yet to be returned to the protesting community.

Hmm the amount of extortion by the nigeria police has turn to a big business. From the Oga to the lowest of them once given gun to carry and they move around on patrol.
A country with no government, you complain and they act like they don't see it. You protest, they shoot at unharmed protesters. Still,nothing is even working in the country.

Sign of a failed nation. They are meant to protect people, lives and properties and not to obtain, destroy and make live miserable to the people.

This is just a debacle.

Let's call a spade a spade.
These policemen we see; most of them are underpaid. A sergent earning 51k, a family man at that and you expect him to arrest yahoo boys ? if that's his only means of making extra income let him do it in peace.

I'm not saying policemen are saint oo. But sometimes instead of struggling with them knowing fully well they would have something against you why not negotiate and go your way.
