Indeed, "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” - Acts 4:12

But according to John 1, the grace of God refers to the New Covenant, that is Jesus Christ Himself and the way to become His follower is through the obedience of the Commandments which He embodies.
Only through obedience is one able to receive salvation to the saving of the soul, according to Jesus Christ.

Not through our own works, but by mercy and grace of the King Eternal, GOD Himself.

Well, Jesus Christ is the one whose commands you will need to obey and so if you feel you need to convince Him it is not your works when you are submitting to obeying His rules, go for it.
The fact remains that to be saved, obedience is the stipulation and that also requires to submitting to the cost.

Obedience is a result of salvation, not the cause of it. "For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.” So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy." - Romans 9:15-16

Of course we should obey, that is one of the main points of my initial post -but don't rely on any of your actions for salvation, rather trust in the mercy of the Lord JESUS, and the work that He has done.
