It is a difficult question to answer except from someone with similar qualifications that has followed that pathway. Biological scientists get registered with the health and care professions council(HCPC) before they can get job in the UK. If it is biological scientist under healthcare then NO, you need IBMS registration to work as a biomedical scientist which you cannot register with a pharmacology undergraduate degree except you go for Masters in Biomedical science then send documents to IBMS and they will list top up courses you need to do( quite expensive) to be able to qualify for registration. You can find pharmacology position in non healthcare setting like pharmaceutical industry but with just an undergraduate degree from Nigeria and no relevant industry experience the chances are almost zero to be taken for such positions.

I'll advise you to wait till you get an employer because the tb certificate expires after 6 months

Yes. But this one I am talking about, as the auctioneer said "gone" like this, he mistakenly hit the vase to be sold with his hammer or whatever they use to hit the table when an item is sold. He didn't know the person holding it was directly behind him.....Vase broke into pieces..lol.

Lest I forget, I have to say that finding this thread today really made me happy. The way you write and include so many informations in your posts is mind-blowing and your attentiveness to questions is laudable. The days become shorter by the minutes and moving out date is almost upon me. Then in the last week of February. My Ward manager, the 'queen' and other colleagues organised a DO for me. When went to an Indian Kitchen. About 15 colleagues turned up, with the Ward Manager and the Consultant. It was a lovely evening of laughter, fun, reflections and reminisce.

We had our appetizers, the main course and the dessert, there was more than we could eat. No alcohol. Each colleague spoke to me, the manager rounded it up. I offered my gratitude and then the Consultant presented a card signed on by all on the ward. Time flies when you are having fun. Before we knew it, time was 2330hr, so we had to call it a day as we have colleagues going to work in few hours.

I was off work the next day, I went to Croydon to buy some stuff that i needed and might not be available in the new place. While I was in one of the shops, I got a call from the letting agents, Jackson Green and Preston. The lady told me that, my moving in date would have to be postponed, I shouted WHY, She said ' She has not been able to get the required official to check the gas safety valve and issue a gas certificate for the house. I was livid with anger, I fired back, why was this check not done before now. She said it is always done when a new tenants is about to move in, it can not be done in anticipation. She explained that it became an issue now because the official to do it doesn't have an open slot.

And without that certificate, She can not release the house as agreed before, I pleaded that, I could move in while awaiting the checks. Resounding NO echoed back, I am sorry, that will not be possible. But I will do everything to chase the engineer to do the checks.

I was dejected, I just dropped the shopping basket that j was holding with everything in it and walked out. This news changed everything for me. I have informed my present Landlord and agents that I am moving out on 29th of February. I have arranged for a removal company and paid a deposit.

I called my wife and informed her of the news. When I got home. I called my Landlord and told him that i need to extend the tenancy by some days and I will pay the daily rate based on the number of days that I eventually spend as extra. Also I called the Removal company that I need to change the date, told him to stand by for a new date. Lastly I called my new employer that I need to extend my resumption date based on exigencies beyond my control. I suggested that I should be able to resume on the 9th of March instead of 3rd.

From 1936 to 1940 she taught at a Church Missionary Society girls' school in Nigeria. She married a Nigerian pharmacist, Dr. Olu Pratt, who subsequently obtained British medical qualifications at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London.

After moving to England in 1946, Pratt studied nursing at the Nightingale School at St Thomas' Hospital, in London. During her time at St Thomas' Hospital, Pratt experienced racial discrimination, when a patient refused to be treated by a black nurse. Pratt passed her preliminary state exams in 1948 and her finals in 1949, qualifying as a State Registered Nurse in 1950. It was unusual for a married woman to be allowed to take up nursing at that time, and Pratt was also the first qualified black nurse to work for the NHS. During her time in London, she was active in the West African Students' Union, an association of students from various West African countries who were studying in the United Kingdom, and which, in 1942, had called for the independence of Britain's West African colonies.

Pratt returned to Nigeria in 1954, after 4 years working for the NHS. Although she was initially denied a post as ward sister – a position only open at the time for British expatriates – she was appointed Matron of the University College Hospital in Ibadan within ten years. Pratt was the first Nigerian to hold that position. She created a school of nursing at the University of Ibadan in 1965. Pratt was also a founder and leader of the Professional Association of Trained Nurses in Nigeria and founder and co-editor of the journal Nigerian Nurse.

Pratt was chief nursing officer to the Federal Ministry of Health in Nigeria and then appointed Commissioner of Health for Lagos in the 1970s. In 1971, Pratt became the President of the National Council of Women's Societies in Nigeria.

In 1973 she was awarded the Florence Nightingale Medal by the International Committee of the Red Cross. The citation described her as a:

State Registered Nurse and Midwife. Certificate in Tropical Nursing. Teachers Diploma. Hospital Nursing Administration Certificate. Chief Nursing Officer, Federal Ministry of Health, Lagos.

The award was presented to her by the President of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Sir Adetokunbo Ademola, on 21 December 1973. In 1975, she was awarded a chieftaincy title – that of the Iya Ile Agbo of Isheri – for services to the nation. In 1979 she was made an honorary fellow of the Royal College of Nursing.

She died on 18 June 1992.

1. I am not sure of the 'time eligibility' for your Profession but for Nurses, you can apply immediately after finishing school.
2. It depend on how many exams that you have to write before you get licensed, For nurses between £2-3k.
