Thought I'd reply all involved individually through email but that would mean too much work.

As you may know, just a couple of weeks ago, I created a thread requesting that 20 nairalanders sent me some information for possible consideration for some opportunity. I got well over 40 entries, out of which I choose eighteen.

I had the names of those candidates selected added
to the list which was dispatched to Abuja. We were hopeful all will work out right.

Three days ago, I got a feedback requesting that a particular format of the list be created using Excel, with several additional information requested of the applicants, including personal and spousal BVN. Unfortunately, when the mail came through, yours truly was nowhere close to a PC as I was neck deep in some critical work in a rural area in CRS. In addition, I wasn't comfortable asking people I've never met in my life, and hardly know, to provide such sensitive information. Furthermore, a deadline for re- submision was set at August 11. Even if I had had all the information, it would have been nearly impossible for me to meet the deadline.

I don't want to reveal much here but two persons here who know me fairly personally know what it's about.

I would simply be on the lookout as these opportunities come every once in a while. But this one has sure passed us by.

The right format and required info should have been requested from the beginning. Even though coming late, asking people to send their bvn should have been left to them to decide if they were willing to take the risk and I'm sure those guys would have responded within hours. Mail can be accessed from mobile phone. You succeeded in raising their hope but couldn't follow through to the end. Sincerely you did not do well!

You started the gesture already. If I were you, I would have taken the pains to finish it regardless of what people think about you. The inability to access your PC is a a justifiable reason.This gesture would have been a legendary and iconic tag on your nairaland status.. Honestly speaking!

Which is same time or minutes you can use to check the gmail preinstalled already on your phone

Bros, I feel ur pain but all d same sha, lets take things easy.
There are certain circumstances that are impromptu - unexpected, that is.
I'm sure everyone must have experienced such. You expect things to go a certain way and all of a sudden, the tide turns.

Let's bear in mind dt he's doing all these pro bono and as such he deserves some commendation.
