Why is almost everything enjoyed in the world called sin? I know a pastor currently being punished in his church for watching bbnaija and tweeting about it when everyother person is free to watch My cousin attended "night of a thousand laugh" and the church demoted him from the position he held When an unbeliever is seen with a woman, everybody hails him and when a believer is seen, everybody persecutes him I went to bet9ja shop to book a game, I saw one of the people I preached to, the guy was surprised, he said am not supposed to be here while he was with his own bet slip I know a priest whom was termed worldly and imoral just because he always play psquare songs in his car, while everyother person is free to play any type of song I traveled to Ghana, imidiately I arrived, I felt free because no one knows me here and I realized that I've been in prison and now free to be myself Is their anyone else feeling this imprisoned as a believer? 1 Like 1 Share |

If you are holy spirit filled believer, there are some things you won't want to do because your spirit and conscience will be against it even before you start doing it. Been religious doesn't guarantee you heaven, having a personal relationship with JESUS is what matters. The type of music you listen to can influence the things that happens to you physically and spiritually because the spiritual controls the physical. Music is a spiritual expression, it is one of the most powerful gateways to connect to your spiritual nature, the unseen realm, and divine beings(angels and demons) that inhabit around you. The more reason you should be careful about the kind of music you listen to. There is something called environmental influence. You don't tempt satan to tempt you. Remember the bible said For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Attending shows where drinkers, smokers, prostitute are. Don't you think you will be tempted to do what they are doing too.Read 1samuel 10: 9 downwards and see how Saul prophesied because he was in the midst of prophets. 1samuel 19:20 too. This is one of the reason as a Christian you don't attend shows where the name of JESUS is not entertained or where they make jokes about Men of GOD If you are a true follower of CHRIST you should know that sport betting is wrong. There are some countries where sport bettings are banned not because the country government are religious but because of the financial risk associated with sport betting. And freedom from what or to do what? Because the bible that I know makes free. Reason slaves taken to the Americas were forbidden from reading the bible for themselves. Religion gives you a tag aka a handcuff. It is the greatest limitation humans can have in life. Only prison ranks equal. I believe that one's relationship with God is strictly personal. While there are general sins that believers shouldn't indulge in, there are also activities that aren't considered to be wrong, but could hinder that relationship if done out of control. For example, watching a football game isn't a sin in itself, but when it becomes a part of you and threatens God's place in your life, then it becomes a sin to you [as an individual]. Therefore as believers, we need to watch the things we do and seek the Holy spirit's guidance for each step we take. If you are not convinced that sports betting is wrong, you should prayerfully search the scriptures about it and ask God to reveal the truth to you. I'll leave you with the following passages which I suppose you are familiar with: There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death - Proverbs 14:12. lastchild:Bro, a believer should not engage in activities that will not edify his spirit. Anything that will weaken him should be avoided. Anything at all. See, anything could even be listening to people talk or attending an occasion. For instance, If someone says something that doesn't sit well with my belief, it's either I ask him to stop saying it or I ignore or I walk away. That's it. If while watching a football match(I'm a diehard football fan btw), I realize that I'm 'feeding the flesh' by watching it, I stop watching it. It doesn't have to be termed 'wrong' before one decides to keep away from it. Nobody said attending Night of a thousand laughs or watching football matches are evil. If your spirit doesn't accept something, then don't do it. I believe your cousin's church board may have had reasons why they frowned at your cousin's decision. The truth is that you were just deceiving yourself all the while trying to please men, but you were never truly of God. That's why you felt free to live your true life when you went somewhere else where you were not known by men. Someone who is of God cannot go anywhere and feel free to live a life contrary to what God requires of him even though no man was there, because God is everywhere and He sees what man cannot see. It's a good thing you left your lifestyle of pretense, so that you could be who you really are. I would advise you continue being who you are even when you get back to where people know you. So that when you truly become of God, you leave the life of true freedom where you're not under pressure to live life according to God's instructions just because men are watching, but because that's who you are in truth so you carry that life with you anywhere you go.
