This article seems a bit disjointed in its writing. Don’t know whether the GMD actually said all he was quoted to have said. For avoidance of doubt I would tell you that the operating cost of crude per barrel in Nigeria is not $35 . I can categorically say that. Especially not for the IOCs maybe some of the marginal field operators would have higher costs. I believe operating costs is between $12 - $15. How can they be making just $10 gross profit on a barrel of oil with tax and royalties deducted there would be nothing left. Secondly, economic models of $40 a barrel are a norm since the last downturn, I have even seen a model for a $20 a barrel scenario developed during this lockdown period. Thirdly, I think what the GMD May have been quoted wrongly to saying is that expansion projects or capital intensive projects would be paced for now which would in turn result in job losses, salary cuts etc. Nobody should be perturbed there are enough funds being generated especially from the JVs and the new levies on deepwater production. As far as I know NNPC is understaffed with an ageing workforce hence the recruitment. Everyone should keep mounting pressure on them to complete EH recruitment and let’s move on. The timeline and excuses of promotion exam and what not should not be the case of an organization like the NNPC. Finally, for the lucky ones who would be eventually employed by NNPC please celebrate for a moment then get to work bringing this giant of an organization to the standards befitting it. For one subsequent recruitments should never take this long before total closure. NNPC should be setting the standards for the IOCs to follow. Just my 2 cents.

You guys should stop making up excuses for NNPC. The company's HR failed woefully in this regard. It is more than a year now and no closure provided for the candidates.

The internal realignment, rearrangement or whatsoever is not the concern of the prospective candidates. What's so hard in sending out list of the successful candidates? Resumption date can be later or varied depending on needs.

I have been following up this thread and You guys have really tried. Keep being strong and resilient. Victory is certain.

You guys need to disturb the shit out of them on social media - twitter, IG et al. You need closure to move on.

Guys, spoke about closure when I spoke the Mgt. staff last time...He said I should exercise patience as EH cadre will be concluded same as that of GT
The 'Qualifications/grades matters not years of experience working, this has always being reviewed, there's no going back on those requirements needed as per this recruitment and it'll get tougher and stringent for the next recruitment.
Worked with one of the 'SBU' as a backup staff, saw an internal memo sent to all 'SBU' and departments stopping the conversion of backup staff as the new policy of the corporation. I knew bk then I had to move on,
