And stop making ignorant comments.
Nursing is more universal than pharmacy
It's better to be quiet than make funny comments.

The same way a nurse go through nursing board of a particular country and write their licensing exam is the same way a pharmacist also go through the pharmacy board of any country.
You should be the one to read before commenting.. He was asking question

Small retail pharmacies make between 50k and 200k daily sales. That is 1.5 m to 6.0m monthly.

Big retail pharmacies make between 200k and more than 1 million daily sales. You can calculate how much they make monthly.
And there are super big pharmacies that make up to 50million sales daily or more.

You cannot compare any health profession, least of all nursing, to pharmacy when it comes to the business prospects.

If you are a pharmacist, you have no business traveling abroad. There is too much money to make in the business side of the profession in Nigeria. For a population of about 210 million people we have less than twenty thousand pharmacists actively practicing in Nigeria, and less than 50% of that number is involved in community practice. All the twenty thousand pharmacists are hardly enough for Lagos state alone. Pharmacists have no business not becoming millionaires and billionaires, unless you are averse to doing business.

deltateam:

Nursing gives you more choices and freedom.

You can open a chemist shop and you are more knowledgeable to give injections, do first aid there where's a pharmacist is limited.

Medicine business is lucrative o. Some malaria drugs sell at up to #500 profit per one. Not to talk of other drugs.

An average chemist shop makes #10000 profit daily or more.

#10 000 × 25 = #250 000 monthly - #100 000 on expenses = #150 000.

Don't shout o.

I'm a nurse, but i will say go for pharmacy. Nurses can easily get job unlike pharmacist, but pharmacists have a better job placement and well organised. Pharmacists can use their licence to make big money and can easily establish their own pharmacy which is more lucrative than the nursing job. In terms of strength in the hospital doctors and nurses have it. They can knock down pharmacy position in the hospital. Meaning pharmacists can't really go on strike on their own. You know what I mean.

U guys lie alot.

Haha u can't even disprove one thing I've said above with facts. Best u can do is to come under like someone with low IQ and make one general statement that says nothing. There will always be more job openings for nursing than for pharmacy and nurses will always earn more than pharmacists.

I would urge you to stop trying to make him see point why medicine shouldn't be brought into the discussion.......it's all inferiority complex, medics shouldn't argue with words buh with practice

Am a male nursing student.
I initially wanted to study pharmacy but being that I hate Nigeria so much that I won't hesitate leaving immediately after graduation, I had to switch to nursing cos it is the easiest ticket to any country you want to move in.
Pharmacy is the best if you want to stay in Nigeria while Nursing is the best if you want to leave this country easily.

Do your politicians whom you voted for to think about saving the society think about saving anything?

How many of the health professionals you're talking about were voted by you to become what they are? How many votes did I gather to become a pharmacist?

And why do you think thinking about money cannot co-exist with saving people's lives?

Enough of this BS pseudo sentiments some people like to preach to appear sanctimonious. Let it sink in, health costs money... You live your life as an average Nigerian not for a second thinking about making provisions for your health. Instead of buying an health insurance package you would rather hand over your money to churches and mosques and bars and other things... And when you are in need of health services you suddenly remember that your health professionals are supposed to be thinking about saving lives and not making money.

We safeguard your health when you pay for our services. If you are not happy about that, go to your church/mosque and use your faith to contract your healing.

Nursing

A universal discipline unlike pharmacy whose Nigerian certificate won’t allow you to make professional practice in correct countries.

To practise as a pharmacist in UK, one will need a year course to convert one’s certificate known as OSPAP diploma certificate before the professional exam. Unlike nursing which one can even use Nigeria diploma in nursing to write the CBT
Hmmm see your reasoning. Nursing is a "universal discipline..." pharmacy is now what?

You obviously know nothing about pharmacy. grin grin

proclinician:
Nursing has too much hype over pharmacy because it is more lucrative, better and more demanding than pharmacy. Nursing has different aspects, pediatric, obgyn, public health, med surg, ophthalmic, blah blah blah. Just find one of these that suits you or interests you and you're good.

I've never been a fan of pharmacy, There are less and less jobs for pharmacists, and the job market for nursing is always good. There are also so many diverse settings a nursing degree can be put to use in like I said already. With a little additional study, you can specialize into areas you are particularly interested in, or even earn Nurse Practioner designation, which anyway means that you can work in a clinic and diagnose and prescribe as a doctor can.

Who is deceiving you?
Doctors have no such power.
You can only show such power if you are the one that owns the hospital and pay those nurses and pharmacist.

How can u say nursing is more lucrative?
Pharmacy is like business.
U can become a multi millionaire with a large pharmacy store.
Am not talking about kiosk o.
Big mall type of shit.
Those days people raked in millions from selling codeine cough syrup.
Anti malarial drugs alone sef.

Never compare a good business to a salary job.
