There's not ready job market for pharmacist abroad. You will go through hell to get licensed. With about 500k and passing exams all written in Nigeria, you will be sought after by recruitment agencies to UK. That's the truth.
If anyone nurses the ambition of abroad, stay away from pharmacy.
I don't have the strength in me to argue.
Quote the person who needs the advise not me.
I already know what I want in life.

i am sure that futa do all these courses either as masters or degree. I will not be able to say much like that. First, computer networking and communication the bomb. programming and coding is essential but you need loads of experience to land a good job at least four years. In the company where I work the IT department guys with networking and communications earn more and easily do side hustle. go for cyber security because there are only a few and a degree in it go make sense. The truth i can tell you is that cyber security covers those listed above and you can easily fit in anywhere because I know that the cyber guys code a lot, know about networking, programming and software development and futa is the number one for that

Sir, if not for this COVID break, I would have been a Doctor by now and I'm telling you that even consultants hardly get that salary. The reason why some consultants might be getting that high is because they are also getting salary from the university as lecturers. Mind you, they will also have to be long time consultants.

Or do Pharmacists now earn more than Doctors?

I'm not talking about business, if you like say they make 50 million in one day, that's your business grin
You sef, doctor?? Wonderment. No be you dey for 100% werey with them gangs on Nairaland some years back?

Why are you so dull? Google is your friend if you don't have a dictionary to check simple grammar. "Did you go to school?" was the question. Correct it to what you think is right, let's see. You are naturally unintelligent, and perhaps fullish. I completed my master's in the U.S. 8 years ago with a distinction, Ode...Stay here and be displaying your low IQ....

Thing is, you don't need to be a pharmacist to open such shop. Mist of those big pharmacies are not owned by pharmacist. All that is required is a pharmacist to tender his licence to open such shop

Shey....ur right.
To me I prefer it to a nursing job o.
Especially if it's well stocked and expansive. And in an area in need of such

Not my comparison. That is the information available on a website that I have duly cited. The website presents information for different categories of graduates in Nigeria and not just Nurses and Pharmacists. If you have another website that presents similar information, which you believe is not flawed, kindly post here.

About RN verse BNsc, I completely agree with you. Unfortunately the website did nothing to clarify whether the figures presented are for Nurses with the three-year diploma certification, or Nurses with BNsc. However, the three-year RN are clearly in the majority in Nigeria. Interestingly the BNsc holders who are in the minority are often despised by those who finished from the three-year school of nursing.

I personally believe that if the Nursing profession should evolve their training to phase out the three year programme and adopt the 5-year university training, they will collect more than pharmacists in the hospital setting. Why? Because they have the number, even more than the medical doctors, to hold the country to ransom and demand any pay that they want. Right now the vicious diploma-BNsc dichotomy within the Nursing profession in Nigeria has rendered their profession powerless, incapable of making a united stand, and perpetually subservient to the medical doctors. Nurses with diploma degrees generally cannot relate with doctors and other university-trained health professionals simply because there is a constitutive confidence that comes with being a university graduate that they do not have. I had worked few years in Nigerian hospitals and I witnessed this inferiority complex close up. Nurses with university degrees, expectedly don't have such complex.

If a united Nursing profession were to go on strike in Nigeria, doctors' strike will be a child's play beside theirs. I really think the Nurses are the most closely related to patient care in the hospitals. The fact that pharmacists don't have this number to play with, and that there are dozen private pharmacies outside make it practically impossible for pharmacists in the hospital setting to demand their own pay outside of the general upgrade going on.

anastasius:

Your post is about RN entry level and not BNsc entry level. Comoare degrees with degree and not degree with diploma.
Pharmacist earn more but your above comparison is flawed.
Again, how many pharmacist are employed by hospitals?
No pharmacist should aspire to work in hospital anyways.

Beautiful write up. It's for that dichotomy I didn't consider nursing while making a choice. But I think things are better now. It's a must for the RNs to get their degree so many are going back to school now.
Re: Pharmacy Vs Nursing: Which Is More Lucrative? by Nobody: 8:43am On Sep 09, 2020
Under extant laws, yes. But this has started changing. I know some states that no longer allow non-pharmacists to open new pharmaceutical centres. Yes, things are changing, and I wouldn't be surprised if in few short years they Council starts to insist that you must be a pharmacist to be allowed to open a pharmacie. This will happen once the number of pharmacists in the country starts to increase significantly. But as it is at the moment, most of our pharmacists are migrating abroad, so to serve Nigerians better it is expedient that non-pharmacists are allowed to invest in the sector. I could almost bet that quite a number of the pharmacists commenting on this thread are not in Nigeria.

At the moment to open as a non-pharmacist you need a pharmacist director who is must be the majority share holder of the CAC incorporated company. That is one. Then you need to employ at least one superintendent pharmacist who overseas the day-to-day operations. For the pharmacist director (who is the major shareholder of a company who is not putting a kobo into), he doesn't need to work in that company as a pharmacist, but he is legally liable to anything that happens there because the law sees him as the owner of the company. And a pharmacist can be simultaneously be the director (major shareholder) of multiple such retail pharmaceutical companies: There is currently no maximum ceiling to how many companies you can so be the director. This is one of the reasons why I consider pharmacy (the business aspect in particular) extremely lucrative. And I personally do not see the reason why any pharmacist should tie himself to some salaries at the hospital.

You don't need to be a pharmacist to open a pharmacy shop. You can have one as farmer and employ a pharmaceutical to register

Thanks Sir.
I really do hope they get things right. But converting too soon to BNSc will likely negatively affect the supply of nurses to the 'market' because we have fewer University faculties offering Nursing than the school of nursing. Except the schools of nursing can be systematically upgraded to offer degree.
