Don’t under estimate what Trump can do in these few weeks before the polls open in the US for the Presidential Election to save his falling polls numbers by appealing to some Nigeria blacks in the US.

After all he just did it towards Muslims by ‘normalizing my relationships between some Muslim countries in the Middle East with Israel.

This meeting has very less to do with the elections. If you check one of the links, there was a meeting - more like a review of scenario under which the ban can be lifted. That is why there is so much emphasis on the national identity number and linking the database to several others so that criminals can be easily be tracked. Tolu Ogunlesi tweeted something about this some weeks ago that Nigeria has created a national identity database with information about stolen and lost passports etc.

You might be right, but the benefit from ‘banning the entire Nigerian politicians’ will only accrue to Nigerian-America via proxy/indirectly.

However, the current visa ban maybe affecting them directly at the moment, since they can’t emigrate their close relatives to the US at the moment.

One more reason they are scared, outside of going to a normal environment to appreciate life, is that all their accounts everywhere in the world even in Russia and China, can be affected through seizure.
