Hello all, my wife had her interview today. The interviewer told her that the verification by the lawyer is not needed because our marriage has already been verified (I changed my marital status here in my city earlier this year and it took 2 weeks before it was done because they verified it). Who else has had such experience? Thanks.

Please, how did you do that?

You just went to city with ur certificate to register that you were married or Ausländerbehörde?
Is there any other process you added save from submitting?

Please has anyone here received appointment for the family reunion visa this week, or last week. I booked October last year, up till now no invite. Any October 2019 booking still waiting for an interview invite here?

Thanks

My spouse is a German living in Germany, I haven’t heard anything from the embassy since my verification was done. My spouse has also not been contacted. I think there is a backlog or reason for delay.
However, I am waiting patiently.

Oh ok , thanks for your response , I wish you speed in the process .

I really don't know how this thing works cos my husband was contacted last week to submit his documents which he has, but down here my lawyer said he is not done yet with my verification.

Hello,

I want to know why you or your spouse weren’t verified. The Stadt Anmeldung you submitted, was it the one you paid 8 euros to get ? What exactly did you do to skip the verification process ?

I want to know cos I am still waiting for date and anything that can cut short my waiting period after interview would be very nice

Hello Everyone, I applied for (long term) Work Visa in Sept. 2019, my likely interview date was said to be in Dec 2020.

First I want to find out if this queue is still being followed?

Secondly, I got a new passport with a different passport number earlier this year since my old passport would expire in Aug 2020, I hope this won't affect my Visa application when I eventually get an appointment date?
Re: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by nuel80: 10:24pm On Sep 18, 2020
One thing I know for sure is that the embassy is following the queue accordingly, except for few cases.

Secondly, your new passport won’t be a problem, provided you go along with your old passport which has the passport number that was used for your appointment booking.
Without your old passport, you will be asked to cancel and rebook your appointment.
Good luck

Honestly, not sure I have the correct answer for you. All I know is that as a DAAD scholar, we don't pay for anything. So I didn't even know people pay 8 euros for Stadt Anmeldung. My family was probably not verified cos we did not pay for it and it would probably cost them money to hire a lawyer themselves.

Hallo Haus,
Plz those dat went for interview this week should kindly post their transcript.. To give us that are waiting hope... This long wait is frustrating me now, this the 9th month i registered for appointment...

Seriously speaking, this embassy new appointment system is wickedness of the highest order. why will they intentionally separate families like this. This is just for an appoint and not even verification time. that means adding verification time will take 1.5 years.
I recently saw people protesting for student visa at the embassy . that was really commendable. I wish we can do so for family reunion visa. if there is one thing international community frowns at, it is separating families.
It is so sad that this thing is happening to only Nigerians. Got to Ghana website and you will get appointment date. when has it become a great crime to be from Nigeria.

The German embassy doesn’t want you to know this because they know what they are doing is unfair.I waited for 2 years to get an appointment at the embassy, I went to the embassy on the 2nd of this morning and my marriage is next tomorrow in Germany. Well the marriage document I got from ( stadtamt) would expire on the 2nd of October. In conclusion it’s a crime to be a Nigerian . The world sees us as nothing!

This is very sad to hear. this is the kind of things international communities frowns at. Just because of their unfairness families are separated and unhappy. I believe in doing the right thing and following the accurate path, but this is not encouraging for the hardworking Nigerians.
We have to change this, we need to protest. even if we do not have time to do it at embassy, we can always tweet and tag many embassies including european union. it is not crime to be a Nigerian

Seriously this is my 10th month and I'm gradually going into depression. Why does it have to be this difficult to be with my husband? The embassy is not being fair at all

It's just so unfair the way we Nigerians are treated. I register for my spouse since June 2019. We got appointment for March 30th 2020, and it was canceled due to the Covid 19. Since then, she's yet to get a date.

While people are still getting date for visa.

So imagine staying away from your family for over 3 years or more.
It's just like a desperate action to cause us our marriages

Honestly, these are the things we need to voice out. if we keep quiet, we wont be heard. this your situation is very sad. Germans value there families a lot and will never want to be separated from them. Just look at what happens during Covid19 lockdown. You saw how badly they complained, atleast they felt a little impact of immigrants being separated from their familes.
Please we need to voice out. we need to protest or else we keep suffering becuase we are Nigerians. Image writing A1 exam and keep waiting for an appointment and they tell you that your result is invalid and that you need to re-write. We need to protest and tag Angela Merkel

Write them, it’s either you have requested for appointment twice which usually leads to cancellation or something have gone wrong. For all I know they treat appointments on first come first serve basis.
Mine was also booked June 2019, and I had my first appointment in March and rescheduled for July 20, I had it successfully and verification done as well.
Good luck
