I was on a bike yesterday and the traffic warden stopped everyone so that a patrol team could pass. The aboki riding the bike I was on tried to manouver and he 90% put me in front of the patrol vehicle.
I told him to stop that I wasn't going again and he said I must pay him that whatever happened was a mistake.
I told him I ain't paying a dime and he said he was going to fight me and he was already putting his hands behind his clothes.
Meanwhile, the idiot traffic warden were there and they pretend as if nothing is happening.
The confidence with which the hausa man said he will kill me and nothing will happen was mind boggling.
Buhari has given these people so much power that they believe they can commit any crime and go scot free. I paid him and let him leave and he was still cursing me and threatening me at the same time....
I value my life so I let it slide.
You see, a country where cow's life is more valuable than human life, where some certain people believe they can do whatever they want and go scot free is not worth celebrating.
Just what you did, you emboldened that aboki to try it on the next person. I'm not here to brag but heaven knows he dare not try it with someone like me sha unless he's closer to a barrack but if not, thunder go fire am straight. Perhaps you dressed like all this ajebutter which made him to act that way. I do tell it to their faces that they can't do nothing where I am. Infact I love to ride with them sef. You can't liberate yourself if you panic at the slightest threat. Next time if he's trying to bring out something, look for a "2 by 2" plank with nails and if you can't find it just gather stones with confidence. .. He will panic and run. Who born monkey?

If the supply of a product is low or zero, the only logical reason in this scenario is the lack of demand.

Just as coronavirus opened up a new market of a nose mask, the same way that seasons like this impact on business - like Christmas!

People lack the patriotic spirit, hence there were no buzz, reminders, preparation, or pre-orders of decorative wears.

This lead to the pathetic state of the current market. The day is not being recognized by both consumers and producers. It's a red sign!

People lack the patriotic spirit?

Have you read about Christopher wiese of Shoprite? If you have not kindly take some time to do so.

If Bezo waited for a flooded market we won't have Amazon as we have it.

As a businessman, that is something I don't do. I have to serve customers irrespective of their political beliefs.

Tomorrow being Nigeria's Independence Day, I reasoned that I need to put up some decoration to key our customers into the season.

Would you believe that I went to the market, and I couldn't find any green and white material, flag, scarf, or anything at all that one can use for the independence celebration?

I had to buy one yard of green and a white material, and send it to my tailor to sew a flag. Yet, the market was full, busy, but no material or accessory to key into this monumental day?

Nigeria has failed the average Nigerian, and it is written in all our faces. Irrespective of which party you support, you know, deep down, we've been cheated.

A moment that should bring celebration looks like a gloomy, scary jungle where everyone is hunting for their next meal.

The businessman you describe above is not wise, nor is he a good businessman. A wise businessman would not be in the business of selling patriotism but in the business of money and profit making, and would supply what would be bought, which may include "Nigeria has failed and patriotism is dead", packaged so it is bought.

This is not my business. It is not what I sell.

Since this is not your field, don't you think your inexperience or perhaps, lack of knowledge could be repulsive to some learned folks here?

Business isn't your strong suit, why not focus on religion and romance? At least, you can perform averagely on such mundane topics than to keep embarrassing yourself here.

Perhaps your business model can work with other products and services, but not this since Nigeria has become a trigger that many want to disassociate from.

In fact, trying to sale these can be risky in some parts of Nigeria, since people with opposing views can decide to do the inevitable.

It's like trying to market pork to a muslim.. No matter how exceptional your marketing skills are, your campaigns will bring zero result.

Please budaa, focus on religious arguments and leave business alone.

But, you won't remember that these Abbokis have always behaved like animals. Why won't you remeber? I hope you do not limit yourself as you have pressumed to limit me with very little knowledge of my business experience. Just to be clear, I'm in this thread because of the presumption of the op which I pressume is wrong but I do not expect everyone to see my point or agree with me. Fact is, he went to buy but could not find, which is the bases for researching a business opportunity.

Some will take from this thread that the bone of contention is the sale of anything that can be sold for profit specifically during independence. It could be items mocking Nigeria, promoting Nigeria or Nigerians, calling for the breakup of Nigeria, promoting or celebrating Biafria or Yoruba and Hausa and Fulani etc republics or village or ethnic or religious group, etc, or any idea one can package and sell.

I make enough from my 'business' to not bother much about the "sale of Independence day decorative wears and accessories" as the return would be a waste of my time resource. However, a sales dept in a business I'm 50% invested in did Independence Day Special and hit 47% increase over same day last year with lots of not yet processed orders. 70% increase is projected if last year is mimicked.

As Adam Smith suggests, business people are not in business for sentiment but for the profit it puts in their pocket.

You don't need to go overboard, as I merely engaged you based on your postulations.

However, it's apparent you're one of these folks who feel like the 'all-knowing', even when they know nothing.

You said all one needed was advertisements, and I enlightened you on why your model cannot work. It's like trying to sell a Biafran flag to an Hausa.

It wouldn't work, no matter how crazy or aggressive your marketing campaigns are. You might even be putting your life in danger.

But if you try to sell a US flag, or even any other kind of flag, you're most likely to hit success if your story is compelling.

Before you exploit an idea, there has to be a market for it. If you're inventing something new, you need to ensure it's going to solve a problem. That way, you create demand without waiting for demand.

But if you delve into selling Nigerian flag, let's say southeast, you might not record such a success, since these are folks who are against the very idea of your product.

I run a restaurant business, and I did ran
independence day promos which were a success. Does that mean those that took the offer love Nigeria?

Nope! They only did because the offer was good, not because it is Nigeria. So if you're selling a Nigerian flag, what do they need it for? And what problem are you solving?

In a country where almost everyone see Nigeria as a curse, why do they need your independence day decorative wears? If they don't, do you still think it's a good idea to sell such?

If you're talking about any other kind of business on independence day, then you're simply applying red-herring, since that isn't the base of this thread.

The reason we conduct feasibility studies, is to know how viable a business idea is before dabbling in. I really don't need to teach you business, sign up for a business class.

Just know that your stance in this thread is baseless, and it will be wise to stop embarrassing yourself further.

Thank you!

Advertisement is not all that's needed nor did I say it was! Go back and read my post and you'd find I used the word juju, and not only for advertising but for all that a businessperson needs to do - though I mentioned only two - to take advantage of an opportunity, scarcity in this case which you pointed out to us and which is far more important than advertising. Just think of me advertising without you first informing me what is scarce and sought after as you did. It would indeed be like "trying to sell a Biafran flag to an Hausa" which implies an incompentency in business as it indicates a lack of the application of research juju. A better business person would know their market, and if you read well, you'd know my "items mocking Nigeria, promoting Nigeria or Nigerians, calling for the breakup of Nigeria, promoting or celebrating Biafria or Yoruba and Hausa and Fulani etc republics or village or ethnic or religious group, etc, or any idea one can package and sell" implies selling to each what they might buy since it's unlikely the same person is likely to buy 'mocking Nigeria' and 'promoting Nigeria or Nigerians'.

Bloghomies:
Does that mean those that took the offer love Nigeria?
If you bothered.... Ah, just let me repeat it for you and it might click.

items mocking Nigeria, promoting Nigeria or Nigerians, calling for the breakup of Nigeria, promoting or celebrating Biafria or Yoruba and Hausa and Fulani etc republics or village or ethnic or religious group, etc, or any idea one can package and sell"

'Items mocking' was carefully placed to guide against your assumption above.

Your "independence day promos" is proof of my point and I'm glad you did not let the occasion pass you by without filling your pocket. You took advantage of Independence Day for your own profit and not for love of Nigeria, as a competent business person would. What kind of food does your restaurant sell?

Depends how you look at it.

Before Nigeria, I love me, and my family and relatives and friends and neighbours and dogs, and I've never expected nor asked "Nigeria" to do anything for me and have always done for myself knowing that if I work hard and learn much, I first will be better off, as would my family and relatives and friends and dogs and neighbours, and Nigeria will have one less stupid and ignorant person and therefore will be better too, and by doing for myself Nigeria is served.

I guess I have a dream. In the future someday, 20, 100, 1000 years time, every or at least many Nigerians will have served themselves by doing the work that makes them less stupid and ignorant, and Nigeria will be better.

Insha Allah, as Joe Biden would day.
