Zone 2023 Nigerian Presidential Ticket To Igbo - Senator Obi

By O'star Eze

Senator Ben Obi has enjoined the political parties in Nigeria especially the PDP and APC to zone the next presidential ticket to the Southeast for fairness and equity.

Speaking at Awka, Anambra State capital, Monday, October 5, 2020, during the official launch and grand opening of Global Movement for Igbo Presidency 2023, Senator Obi noted that it was only once, 54 years ago that an Igbo man ruled the nation.

In his words,
"Power is not given or served, it is taken.
"The last time Igbo ruled this nation was during the military regime 54 years ago during Aguiyi Ironsi's era. And it lasted for just 194 days.

"For this project of Igbo Presidency to be possible, certain variables must be put in place. All political parties especially the ruling parties APC and PDP must zone their Presidential ticket to Southeast."

He added that for Igbo Presidency to be possible come 2023, Igbo politicians must reach out to other zones for support.

On his part, former governor of Anambra State, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife highlighted that the initiator of the Global Movement for Igbo Presidency was from Edo State, Comrade Kennedy Iyere.

He stated that "it appears God in heaven is saying it is time for a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction."

Dr Ezeife charged Igbo people to start believing more in the cause of Igbo President come 2023 alleging that other Nigerians seem to believe in Igbo president more than the Igbo people.

"Igbos are the development agents of Nigeria. We make Nigeria look more like a nation. We believe culturally in developing any part of the world we find ourselves in. Ebe-onye-bi-ka-ona-awachi

"We deserve to be given a chance and I am glad that our people in diaspora and from other tribes unanimously agree that an Igbo president is what Nigeria needs to take the next strides towards development," he said.

Other speakers were Dr Tanko Yinusa, National Chairman of National Conscience Party and the President of Ohaneze Ndigbo in UK, Dr Nnanna Igwe.

are you talking of the same party (APC) the igbos consider as evil and Islamic party? Give me one reason why APC that is hated by the igbos will give their Presidential ticket to a region that will not vote for them?
The igbos have been loyal to PDP for more than 20yrs, why won't them be given the chance to contest under that party?

Idiot. Why should Apc zone their ticket to SE when it's sure they will not vote for the party.

You have been slavery for PDP over 21yrs now.

Ignore the idiot. They are always been clever by half.
If you go to east now, even their pastor does not hide their hatred towards Apc. They openly pray against Apc in a public transport. I have witnessed that on many occasions

Even in 1999, the PDP ticket was not zoned to SW. It was a contest between Obasanjo And Alex Ekwueme.

Believe it or not, there are Igbo that know how to get the Presidency. After all, they voted with the rest Nigeria from North to South to elect a Biafran, Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan.

They also captured Lagos and sent Azikiwe to represent Lagos in Ibadan.

What happened to those Igbo? They got cocky and drunk and told their children fantastic stories that they it all without majority votes by themselves.

Their children believe it and started beating their chest bloody.

If you want Presidency, go back to the drawing board. Lobby, dance and suck up to get it by merit not by threat. You hia?

Simple arithmetic...

1. SE ( orji kalu in APC, or Peter Obi in PDP) to rule.

2. Allow Jonathan to complete his tenure..

3. The North continue from where buhari stopped.

Anything not in this equations, is rubbish.

Political party is not a charity organization. Telling Apc to zone their ticket to SE where it is 10099 certain it will not get any vote, no political party will do that.
The best bet, ask PDP for their presidential ticket

You talk as if there are no igbos in APC , ogbonnaya Onu of ANPP, Rochas of APGA, and some in PDP were the ones that formed the APC with other people from other geo political zones, they put there money and energy into it, but the general IGBOS saw that bubu is a nepotistic, tribal bigots who will drag this country backward ( and they were 80-90% right).

Nepotism in what aspect. Do you remember the definition of nepotism when Jonathan was in power?
When your people had it all during GEJ, you didn't remember to give us ,there is a word called nepotism.

THE CONFUSED LOTS!!!

(who marginalizes who?)

WHEN COMMON SENSE IS NOT COMMON!!!
FROM PRESIDENT OF OHANEZE, JOHN NNIA NWODO.

I remember a time in this Country when all the six Ministers in Jonathan's kitchen Cabinet were all Igbos.

Ayim Pius Ayim was Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala was in charge Finance, Emeka Wogu was in Labour and Productivity, Berth Nnaji was in Power and Energy.

Dieziani Madueke was the powerful Minister for Oil.

The six of them outside the Federal Executive Council would meet and decide what and what not to be discussed at the larger FEC.

Whatever they decided would eventually be the position of Government.

In six years, this was the situation.

Okiro and Onovo had the Police under their control.

Ihejerika and later Minimah controlled the Army.

These powerful Igbos could do and undo.

Nigeria was in their pockets.

Rather than care about the poor Igbo chaps scattered all over the Country, they were busy diverting Billions of Naira into their accounts at home and abroad.

The Second Niger Bridge, they didn't do. They shared the money.

The Lagos/Calabar rail lines passing through nine States, three of them in the South East, they were not bothered.

They refused to pay the Chinese the Counter part fund. They shared the money.

Enugu/Onitsha, Aba/PH and other roads of economic importance to their fellow Igbos, they abandoned them.

Who is to blame ?

Who is marginalising the Igbos ?

You had your chance, you bungled it.

There was only one Yoruba Minister worth mentioning at the time, Akinwunmi Adesina.

He was in Agriculture. His budget was less than 1% while Emeka Wogu in Labour had over 10% for his Ministry.

Ayim had unlimited access to the treasury for the benefit of himself and Family members.

The poor Igbo guys meant nothing to him.

If an Igbo becomes President tomorrow after Jonathan, will there be any difference ?

The Igbo man will marginalise his fellow Igbo people...

PLEASE SEE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Under Former President Jonathan, A South Easterner:

Senator Pius Anyim - former Secretary to the Federal Government for 5 years - Igbo.

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala - former Minister of Finance and Coordinator of the Economy for 5 years - Igbo.

Senator Ike Ekweremadu- former and incumbent Deputy Senate President for 5 years plus - Igbo.

Emeka Ihedioha - former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives for 5 years -Igbo.

General Ihejirika - former Chief of Army Staff for 4 years - Igbo.

Diezani Alison Madueke - former Petroleum Minister for 5 years - Ijaw/ Igbo.

**Senator Stella Odua- former Minister of Aviation for 4 years - Igbo.

~EMEKA OKAFOR.

Please add these to the List. All since the present Democratic dispensation in 1999.

Evans Enwerem - Igbo- Senate President.

Chuba Okadigbo - Igbo- Senate President.

Adolphus Wabara - Igbo - Senate President.

Ayim Pius Ayim - Igbo - Senate President.

Ken Nnamani - Igbo - Senate President.

Chinedu Nebo- Igbo - Minister of Power.

Bert Nnaji - Igbo - Minister of Power.

~AKIN OMOZ-OARHE.

So who really is marginalising who when all these had all the chance in the world to get their kinsmen their fair slice of the National cake ?

Did they not get the slice ?

Hell they did. Where did it go ? Into their individual pockets.

Most of you have short memory.
Nobody will play into your emotions.
2023 is near as you rightly said. You will come up with your 5% as usual

You mean when Jonathan was there no yorubas were in any key post?

Jona fire ihejirika when buhari and his people shouted he was killing the north, he was replaced by a northerner, today boko haram is humongous..

According to them, Okonjo was the best and Nigeria was borrowing money to pay salary when crude oil was $100 per barrel
