I tested it with it another battery, it didn't work.
The technician said it is the charging ic.

Please does anyone have idea the cost for charging ic repair and is it a major problem What are the chances it will work if repaired.

I really struggled to get this laptop. I didn't anticipate this problem at all. I am very sad.

My PC battery does not charge anymore but the charger is working and the power indicator still blinks. The battery percent has remained at 90 which was the last time it charged since I encountered the problem. No matter how long I charge, it does not increase or reduce. It's just there at 90 percent.

Without being plugged to Light, the laptop does not switch on even with the battery at 90.

Could the problem be the battery or something else.

and I have been advised not to be using it as the battery is not working as it will
damage the hard drive and motherboard.

IC are the cheapest part of any electronics,I know because I buy them often for inverter repair. Their prices ranges from N100 to N300. But multiple could be faulty. Also it takes little time to replace.
Try another Engineer first,intact take your Pc with you to different Engineers,let them check it and tell you what's wrong. Tell them you will get back to them,after trying 3 to 5 persons, choose the one you thy its price is lowest and you think can do a good job.
This is the only way to avoid being cheated especially in Lagos.

If the fault is from charging ic like your engr said, laptop should power on with battery with 90% charge but not with charger.

Going with the blinking light like most Elitebook since they sometimes share the same mobo, there is a short to ground in your laptop motherboard.

What happened to your PC that makes the battery go bad so quick after buying was that, Those who sell UK used laptops in Nigeria always remove the follow come batteries and replace it with another China made batteries because the follow come are always very good and they're are more expensive than brand new China made batteries.
Now concerning the price of the batteries, everything has skyrocketed after the lockdown,but I think 15k is still too much. Please make sure you buy a good battery this time,infact even if you will pay N15k for an original manufacturer made battery,you won't regret it. You will enjoy it alot.
But it's going to be difficult, unless you go to your laptop manufacturers service center. Or you order from eBay or Amazon. You see those batteries on Jumia and Kings are fake,I use to see guys in computer village packaging fake Stuff for their jumia/Konga order. They upload pictures of original batteries but that's not what they sell.

Maybe I will try and come back to this thread often again. I stopped coming to this thread because of those who need help with their computers but will refuse to post reasonable information that will help others assist in resolving the issues.
Imagine someone complaining about something on its Pc screen and yet couldn't post a single picture. Some will just write some incoherent statements that doesn't make sense
If you need assistance about anything computer or its accessories,take your time to write in a comprehensive way. Give necessary information,we are not omniscient,for us to help we need detailed info. Pictures helps a lot also though not a must. Thanks

By checking if the MB is getting adequate current to it. And if it is, why is the PC not powering on?......

If I plug in the AC adapter to the laptop,the panel is reversing the current back to the charger...

You can only confirm that a mobo is OK when you power it on and it display to the screen and all peripherals working.
