The Difference Between Abel's And Cain's Sacrifice by live4dgospel(m): 3:25pm On Oct 10, 2020
(Genesis 4:3-7)

"And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the LORD. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the LORD respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. So the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”

God wanted to bless both Abel and Cain but Cain didn't offer the right sacrifice to God. He offered the sacrifice of his own devotion and efforts. God told Cain 'if you offer the right sacrifice I will accept you. Why are you angry? Shouldn't you do the right thing and let Me bless you?" But Cain stubbornly left God.

Like this, many Christians are offering the sacrifice of their efforts to God hoping that God would accept their sacrifices, they offer money, devotion, religious piety, daily prayer of repentance. God cannot accept such sacrifices, if we want God to accept us to His kingdom we must offer the correct sacrifice. This is evident, both Cain and Abel believed in God but they offered different sacrifices, God therefore respected one and rejected the other.

When Adam and Eve committed sin by disobeying God, God saved them from their sins by passing their sins to an animal and killing it. With this, God clothed them with the tunics of skin made from this animal.

This means that God clothed them with His righteousness, Adam and Even became the first people to receive the remission of sin. But before God made for them tunics of skin, Adam and Eve had clothed themselves by making coverings for themselves by sewing fig leaves, however upon sunshine the leaves would wither away exposing their unclothedness once more.

Therefore God clothed them with animal skin which is long lasting. Between the righteousness of God and human righteousness which one is better? Of course God's righteousness is better! This is the faith Abel learned from his parent Adam and Eve but Cain didn't learn this teaching on how God saved his parents when they fell into sin, instead he followed his human thinking. Abel became a righteous man by listening and believing in what God did to save their parents.

Likewise in the New Testament God allowed John the Baptist to pass the whole sins of the world to the head of Jesus Christ during baptism in the Jordan River and have him crucified on the cross shedding His blood. We must accept this sacrifice of God by faith and receive God's blessings, let us not become stubborn like Cain. God saved us through water, blood and the Spirit.

As it is written in (1 John 5:6)
"This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth."
Water means Jesus baptism (1 Peter 3:21) and blood means His death on the cross and the Spirit means that Jesus is God the Almighty who came in human flesh to save us.

This is the same gopel Jesus taught Nicodemus, that one must be "born of water and Spirit" to enter the kingdom of God (John 3:5)

1 Peter 3:20-21 "who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

I still can't believe it.

That God loves blood this much!

Must God kill something or someone to save people?

The story or fable is not adding up. The Jews who concoted these stories made a mess of everything. After Adam and Eve were driven from paradise the next episode was Cain and Abel sacrificing. To which god exactly?

Mankind, who had eaten the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, came to have the different standard for good and evil from God’s. Then, which is correct, God’s Word or our judgment? Our standard is always relative and selfish. Therefore we should cast away our own ideas and simply trust and follow God’s Word focusing on “What does the Word of God say?” Ignoring God’s Word and seeking self-righteousness is Cain’s faith and religious belief. Abel put his faith in the Word of God he heard from his father, Adam, and offered the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. But self-conceited Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord. God accepted Abel’s offering but refused Cain’s offering. It is God’s lesson that faith in man-made religions cannot bring salvation.

grin

He, God, is only interested in what your heart can offer... Not what your hand or brain can offer..

If God works according to the work of human or according to human smartness, then so many will be favored and try outsmart God..

But Ur heart cant pretend... Ur heart is the only part of man dt can't pretend... And God sees it..

If it is right, He sees it.. Unlike man dt cant see our heart..

So Abel sacrifice was an offering of the heart

Cain was an offering of the hand /brain/smartness

The Bible account of Cain and Abel making their offerings is very brief. At Genesis 4:3-5, we read: “It came about at the expiration of some time that Cain proceeded to bring some fruits of the ground as an offering to Jehovah. But as for Abel, he too brought some firstlings of his flock, even their fatty pieces. Now while Jehovah was looking with favor upon Abel and his offering, he did not look with any favor upon Cain and upon his offering.”

There is no mention in the Bible that prior to this event Jehovah had given any specific information about sacrifices or about what kind of sacrifices would be acceptable to him. Thus, Cain and Abel evidently made their offerings solely of their own volition. They were barred from access to their parents’ original Paradise home; they began to feel the effects of sin; and they were alienated from God. In their sinful and pitiful state, they must have felt strongly the need to turn to God for help. Offering God a gift was likely a voluntary gesture on their part toward gaining God’s favor.

As matters turned out, Abel’s offering was accepted by God, but Cain’s was not. Why? Was it because Abel offered the right things and Cain did not? We cannot be sure that the type of offering had no bearing on matters, since neither of them had been told what was acceptable and what was not. However, it is likely that either type was acceptable. In the Law that Jehovah eventually gave the nation of Israel, acceptable sacrifices included not only animals or animal parts but also roasted grain, sheaves of barley, fine flour, baked goods, and wine. (Leviticus 6:19-23; 7:11-13; 23:10-13) Evidently, it was not the substance alone of the sacrifices of Cain and Abel that caused God to accept one and reject the other.—Compare Isaiah 1:11; Amos 5:22.

Centuries later, the apostle Paul stated: “By faith Abel offered God a sacrifice of greater worth than Cain, through which faith he had witness borne to him that he was righteous, God bearing witness respecting his gifts.” (Hebrews 11:4) Thus, it was because of faith that Abel was recognized as righteous by God. But faith in what? Faith in Jehovah’s promise that he would provide the Seed, who would ‘bruise the head of the serpent’ and restore the peace and perfection that mankind once enjoyed. From the statement that the Seed would be ‘bruised in the heel,’ Abel might have reasoned that a sacrifice involving the shedding of blood was needed. (Genesis 3:15) Nonetheless, the fact remains that it was Abel’s expression of faith that made his “a sacrifice of greater worth than Cain.”

By the same token, Cain was rejected, not because he offered the wrong kind of sacrifice, but because he lacked faith, as indicated by his actions. Jehovah had clearly pointed out to Cain: “If you turn to doing good, will there not be an exaltation?” (Genesis 4:7) God did not reject Cain on account of any displeasure over his offering. Rather, it was “because his own works were wicked”—marked by jealousy, hatred, and finally murder—that Cain was rejected by God.—1 John 3:12.

It was the condition of his heart and not the elements of the sacrifice

Re: The Difference Between Abel's And Cain's Sacrifice by Abyjah: 9:17am On Oct 11, 2020
The issue about God rejecting Cain's sacrifice was not that of whether it was plant or animal. God accepts both equally.

The problem was with the nature of Cain's heart. Sin lurked within his heart.

Proverbs 21:27
"The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?"

Cain obviously had wickedness in him.

1 John 3:12
"Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous."

It's not about the sacrifice but about the sacrifice offerer. If your heart is wrong, your sacrifice, whether plant or animal, can't be right. So first you must offer yourself to God before you give Him any gift according to Roman 12.

Romans 12:1
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."

The universe is designed in such a way there is nothing that comes from nothing, you can't dig a hole and expect not to have its sand stacking up on the other side.

Why can't the government just EndSARS without them killing so many innocent people, why didn't they just hear our cry before the killings? (Hope you get the point)

There will always be a reaction to every action, it's how the universe is designed. Peace
