Mine was when my former roommate, a close friend and blood relative refuse to deliver an urgent message to me from a big shot requesting my CV for a well paid government job, he told them that I said am not interested in the job, the man waited for two weeks looking for someone to occupy the position before I was contacted from another person during a discussion with the oga's wife asking people why I rejected a big connection for job that the husband brought, when I learnt of it I was mad, although I eventually got the job.
when i confronted him he felt bad about his action. although he was somehow defensive. but I forgave him and we moved on.

During the holidays (back when I was in college), I was doing my internship at a bank. One afternoon, I saw a guy on top of a motorbike flagging desperately at me as I stood outside the bank. I recognized him immediately. He was a close friend of one of my coursemates who doubled as my study partner. While I considered him a friend of mine, I had minimal interaction with his friend who was paying me a visit at the bank. He was on a mission as he told me when he got off the bike and I ushered him into my office. He had five resits at the university and he was in dire need of a place to stay so that he could write his resits. The hotel he was currently staying at was billing him 100 Naira a night which was draining his finances. Hence, he wanted to squat at my place. I was the only one who could bail him out. I declined his pleas and he left in tears.

The following day, he stopped by again to beg me, but fortunately for him, I wasnt in the office. He proceeded to plead with my supervisor to help him beg me accommodate him for a month or so while he took and cleared off his resit. When I came back (he had left), Rosa said to me, "Mbok nyanga enye" . . . "Please help him." I acquiesced to her pleas. By coincidence, I was moving into my off campus residence (from home) that very weekend. So after my mum dropped me off on Sunday. There-after, I went to his hotel and he was so so relieved and happy to see me because that meant I was willing to accommodate him which I did for one month. We got along very well, he cleared off his resits and left on very good terms. I am certain that he passed all his resits. The following session when school resumed, the guy again asked for accommodation. So, he stayed with me, along with my study partner, who then sneaked in his friend as well. So, we were four in a room. My landlord made WAHALA with me and threatened on several occasions to kick me out of the house for harboring occupants in his compound without his permission. Earlier on, my mother had gone to my landlord's village on a mission because he had threatened to kick me out, and there, begged him also to allow the guy to stay with me because of his academic deficiencies. But for the Grace of God, I would have lost my place and these fellows stayed with me for about two months and left on good terms. He was very appreciative of my hospitality to him and tried to reciprocate it by always inviting me to his new bunk to eat at his expenses but I turned him down much to his great annoyance. I know he meant well, but I did not want to come off as a leech, sponging off on him, even if he was wealthy. Later on, we quarreled. My study partner and his other friend and another coursemate would gossip about this wealthy guy to my face and I will defend him. But then my study partner would go to this guy's house and gossip about me. We reconciled but our friendship was not as solid as before.

After college, I relocated to the US and years later, I was able to get in touch with him through a lady that I chatted with in a Nigerian chatroom. He was so so happy to hear from me because the assumption back home is that when people travel abroad, they forget their friends back home. My youngest brother died several years after I resumed contact with this former roommate of mine, so I flew into Nigeria for his funeral. I passed the night in Lagos with plans of traveling to Uyo the following day. But my plans derailed that day so when I went to the airport that evening, the only available flight was to Port Harcourt. My goal was that as soon I land in PH, I will charter a taxi straight to Uyo (as I did years earlier). However it was dark when I arrived in PH. Alone in a strange place with nobody to help me, I was just helpless. Then a thought occurred to me as I remembered my friend I had put up with years earlier lived in PH and like I said to myself, he will help me out because I did help him out when he needed my assistance. So, I called him up, he picked up the phone and I explained my circumstances and that I needed to stay at his place just for one night. I will be on my way to Uyo the following day. He came to the airport to pick me up. On our way, the guy sighed, then berated me, "But you could have left Lagos earlier on now." Then he kept on ranting that when people are married, they focus on their family and not on their friends, so in essence, he was very reluctant to accommodate me. And here I was thinking that this would be another reunion of sorts. But the man kept ranting and ranting and asking me, "Ok, so why did you not leave Lagos earlier on now, you should be thankful to God that I picked up the phone because I was about to switch it off when your call came in, it's just that when people are married, they focus on their family not friends." I was so embarrassed and tongue tied at this deplorable way he was treating me. Like, it was a big deal he gave me a place or without him, I would have been stranded big time in PH (just for a day) whereas, back in college, he was on the verge of being kicked out of college because of his academic deficiencies if I had not given him a place to stay) It got worse when we arrived at his house and he served me food like one would to their cat. His wife was very nice and hospitable to me, but this guy was just angry at me throughout my stay until the following morning when he dropped me off at the the motor-park.

He sent me an email when I returned to the States that he was sad at my brother's demise. When I think of how I helped him in his time of need, how he confessed that but for my help, he would have been stranded and how he repaid my hospitality in my own time of need when I was stranded in PH, I now realize that if the roles were reversed back in college, that guy wouldnt have helped me.

You weren't a friend either. You clearly didn't trust him, yet complaining he didn't trust you. This illustration is not a good example of trust. It was simply a business arrangement and within that he had a right to be upset.
You won’t understand. This was somebody I kept in my house and was feeding. It wasn’t really business but help. I wanted him to raise enough money to stay on his own.
He made more than 100% profit within that short period because I was taking care of his personal daily expenses. I even encouraged him to put back everything so that his returns would compound.
Bros, even the guy himself knew that I tried him.

you do not have to make millions before you reject some things, our people will say stuffs you wont take when you are rich, you will start rejecting them when you are poor. Do not let anybody make you look inferior irrespective of your current situation.

The funny thing about those bossy guys is they carefully look for their prey, they can easily smell inferiority complex from a far, before I cut off friendship with my 3 friends 7 years ago, there was one of them with similar trait, he was a thorn in the flesh of the other two but he never for once tried his tricks on me, why? because I am very unpredictable, he just couldn't predict what the outcome would be and he knows that any trial from his side would be met with stiff resistance from me, so there was this mutual respect between us.
100% nothing but the truth.

Sometime ago, i had this close friend actually a guy, i rarely trust people but i trusted this guy to the extent i usually tell him about my personal life, i never knew this guy serectly admired me but never told me anyday so i just took him like a friend, the day this guy broke my trust for him was the day he tried to rape me i was shocked, if not for God that guy almost had his way the luck i had was that his mum just returned from work and so she was looking for him, he had to leave through our backdoor, since i was the only one at home, na God save me that day i almost became a victim of rape, since then i hardly trust anyone even my own brothers.

A man who admires you will not rape or attempt to rape you.
He never admired you.
He only lusted after you.

My own happened recently with a friend i thought could always confide in everything. Never knew this guy was toasting my babe behind my back.
He was even confident my babe wouldn't have the gods to tell me everything he has been saying to her. Not knowing my babe recorded all his toasting calls to her.
Since then, I dey fear to make close friends.
My people, fear friends. The bad ones (friends) are the worst enemies.

Mine was last Valentine day, I and my friend were really broke, we hadn't a dime. So, he called me the morning preceding valentine's day, 2019, to inform me that I should try make one or two contacts wether money go drop make we take groove. So, I called a friend who agreed to send me small thing oh.
Na so, I beg my manchi to give me him account since i have an outstanding loan to pay off with access bank. He volunteered his account... Long story cut shot, the money drop for my man account. And he confirmed it to me.
Before you know what, this guy came to my house with his babe and passed the night. Since, I had a little food items at home, I just relax.
When it was dawn, since he was in my house, I told him to go and make the withdrawal so I go give am small thing make him carry flex his babe. The said guy excused himself that I can go and make the withdrawal that he trusts me. Not knowing that he gave a wrong pin, I got to a POS spot, used the card, lo and behold the pin was wrong. I returned his card to him and told him that i have tried it severally it didn't work that he should go and get me the cash since the account was his. My friend got angry on hearing that.
He then went to the bank and got me the money oh. So later I realised he wanted to corner the money to flex his girlfriend. And then sideline me.
The second instance was that my friend borrows my phone to check browse online since his phone was bad. Little did I know that he steals female contacta from my phone to call.
I got to know when people started calling me that someone calls them from my area and that I am the only one they know within my area. So, when about 4 persons complained about that to me, I then cast my mind back and recalled that that my paddy is the only person that I unluck my phone for. Since then, I stopped giving him my phone and then gradually withdrew myself from him..
Avoid toxic friends....

honestly, I dont know what I wrote that got me that grade because my answer booklet was almost blank. Out of 4 questions, I answered only 1 and even couldn't answer it completely. I have never been so suddenly dissapointed in my life before. Knowing that if I failed that course, it would mean an extra year in school worsened my panic in the exam hall. This was someone I housed, fed him when he had no food. Though he paid for 1 room apartment in my father's compound but I let him stay with me in the main house... I took him like my brother!!! You can imagine the kind of relief that befell me when I didn't see "F" in my results because that course gave me sleepless nights. I just thank God o.
