EndSARS: Lagos Sets Up ₦200m Compensation Fund For Police Brutality Victims by Nobody: 11:13pm On Oct 13, 2020
The Lagos State Government on Tuesday announced the setting up of a N200 million fund to compensate families of victims of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) killings. Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced this while addressing the EndSARS protesters at the Lagos House of Assembly gate, Alausa, Ikeja.

The compensation fund will be completely supervised by Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) appointed by members of the public.

Sanwo-Olu called on the protesers to send the list of everyone that had fatal encounters with SARS in Lagos. He said that government would identify the families and ensure that they were compensated. The governor said that he fully identified with the EndSARS struggle, knowing that many youth had been battered, and he felt their pain. He said that in fulfilment of one of the requests made by the protesters, all those arrested had been released without any condition. Sanwo-Olu further promised to convey the requests of the protesters to President Muhammadu Buhari, some of which are increment in police salary, as well as Justice for those killed by the Police. Recall that the governor, on Monday, addressed some of the protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate where he expressed solidarity with them.

Tinubu go don commot 190 Million Naira from that money. We’re left with just 10 million Naira.

One of the reasons we rejected him in Edo State.

Always craving for Likes that can't feed your family nor prevent them from being gunned down by sars. How much funds have been granted by your state governor to the families of those killed by Awkuzu sars. Sadly, unfortunate beings like you can't resist the urge to trivialize an effort to bring succour to the victim families.

kiss the truth!

We hope and pray that it is used for the purpose it was created. Let the government also heed to our other demands, we can't and shouldn't be begging for our lives in a country we own equally.

This is good governance.
Nairalanders, if you have been a victim of SARS brutality, signify and raise your hands.
Let's get compensated, but please, anyone that lies about this may not be able to sleep again forever!
Genuine people, Signify now.
I will personally make a list
This is what I stand for.

Prosecute and jail the killers, that is my number one protest. The number one on the agenda.
Compensation comes next, although we know money cannot replace a lost life, but we will still take it like that.

He said: ” I stand with the #EndSARS protesters because I’ve twice been a victim of police brutality. Now is the time for police reform. Now is the time to end police brutality.
YES!
This is what I am after.
#EndPoliceBrutality.
#ReformSARS

Real definition of blood money.

This won’t change the fact that a huge percentage of law enforcement agents are blood thirsty, power drunk, drugged up, dense and men spirited individuals.
