NUT, are the ones that will be making that deduction.
How much, I don't know but, one of the exco say almost the same thing that was deducted last month.
For the deductions, let's just get our mind cross as there is nothing me and you can do about it now.

NATIOANL EXAMINATIONS COUNCIL (NECO),
25TH October, 2020
PRESS RELEASE
INDEFINITE POSTPONEMENT OF THE 2020 ON-GOING SENIOR SECONDARY CERTIFICATE EXAMINATIONS (INTERNAL)

The Governing Board of the National Examinations Council (NECO) at its Special Meeting held on Thursday, 22nd October, 2020 reviewed the on-going 2020 SSCE(Internal) nationwide. The Council had in a press release, dated 21st October 2020, informed the general public of rescheduling some papers of the 2020 on-going SSCE.

Arising from that meeting, the Governing Board resolved that the 2020 SSCE(Internal) be postponed indefinitely in view of the current security challenges, occasioned by the ENDSARS protests, which disrupted the smooth conduct of the examinations in some parts of the country.

In making this decision, the Board noted that due to these security challenges:
a. Some state governments imposed curfew and closed schools in order to safeguard lives and property;
b. In the circumstances, it has become difficult for the Council to move examination materials across the country;
c. Students in the affected locations were unable to sit for the papers already scheduled in the examination time table.

The Governing Board further resolved, that when normalcy returns, the Council will continue with the conduct of the examinations in all States.

While regretting any inconveniences this postponement may cause our esteemed stakeholders, the Council has however taken this decision in order to maintain the integrity and security of its examination procedures for seamless conduct of the Council’s examination.

Head, Information and Public Relations Division

It's a pathetic situation. It's a real sorry and a pity situation. We eat the crumbs just to quench our hunger and thirst of starvation which the government had deliberately made it so.
Depending on this salary is like using a basket to fetch water hoping that it will get full.
Make this job your secondary option and focus in something meaningful (business). Have you imagined that the salary doesn't last for two weeks. It's not funny.

Oga!, stop the weeping.
You met a system seven years ago and I agree that the system need to be overhaul, but is not enough to say, we are begging to be paid.
If you anticipate a senator salary, be a senator and not a teacher, sir.
Agitation were made sometimes ago, and the man in charge, promise to look at those issues you mention above and to act on the agreed recommendations effective from October, allow him fail his part first.
When you choose to be a teacher, you equally accepted to be a member of teachers union, to start the struggle, join the NUT leadership and use that platform to press for our collective good.
Bros! Calm down.
Am not and cannot defend the govt but like its being said, we should get other SOURCES of livelihood, to stop OVERDEPENDENCE on this SALARY, that is the crux of the matter until anticipated changes are made.

We call it passive income. I made this job passive long ago. I'm not a slave. I refused to be used in modern day slavery. I am not complaining because it is just one of my four sources of income and it is my least source in terms of average revenue per month.

Well said. But for this, have you also considered that someone's other source or sources of income may hinder his or her dedication to work? We may not all be good at the same trade you know. Mine may not permit a certain level of dedication to this job. All the same, I pray we all have principals that are understanding enough so we can manage between work and "hustle". I have a colleague who has never been to my school since we started this job. I was forced to teach his subject and mine while he works in the bank and has an understanding with principal. He has grown in the job over the years and he uses a brand new toyota corolla as his official ride. Truth be told, do your best, but don't take this job too serious.

Principal may understand, but even if the don't sir, 8-2pm then thereafter, 2 till mama call is usable time.
With the current rivers trend, 6-11am for those in senior secondary and as well 11am to mama call for ube, usable time.
Anything legal that support, overdependence on this salary is a welcome development sir.

I was paying the bank I got the loan from, 20k every month and the taxi gat me a minimum of 90k every month. Plus what was left of my pay, I still had about N140-150k every month. Seriously, I feel only those who gat no side hustle are over concerned about this job and their salary. U gotta create something,no matter how small outside this job. A poultry in the village with as little as 50 chickens can do a lot to help. I remember seeing people harvesting vegetables (ugwu) in a farm. It seems like nonsense, but my brother when dey finish selling everything for week, u will be amazed that an "ugwu" farmer makes more money than u with ur BSc. or MSc. Funny this is, planting ugwu requires very little stress and little or no attention. Just my suggestion though.

You don't need to weep. People are wiser these days. Many people come here to spy out if one of their income sources has yielded it's monthly fruit. 2013 teachers are a different crop. They've decided not to be like their seniors in the profession. In Naija today, you assemble from different sources before you can survive, and these days teachers know that. So, wipe your tears.
