In this hour of sorrow, I convey my deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to Late Senator Rose Okoji Oko's family, relatives and the good people of Cross River North Senatorial district. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dr (Mrs) Rose Okoji Oko was a patriotic Nigerian and a dogged fighter whose contributions to national development were immeasurable. She would be greatly missed by many including, family, the People’s Democratic Party, Yala, the Senate, Cross River State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Her contributions to the growth of democracy in the country will be remembered for generations especially her elegance and highly cerebral nature with captivating command of English language.

As a Senator, she made useful contributions while she led her Senatorial district in the Upper House. History certainly will reserve many positive pages on the big impact she made in her Sixty Three (63) productive years on earth.

The late Senator was a very vibrant legislator who brought to bear her wealth of experience in education, the civil societies and the government to debates in the Senate. Her contributions on burning national issues were very valuable because she possessed all round knowledge on various issues.

Although I received the news of her death with shock and disbelief, I give glory to God for a life well spent.

While I pray that God would grant her eternal rest and give her family the strength to bear the loss, I urge family, friends and associates to find solace in the fact that the late Senator left an enviable political career that would be treasured for a long time to come.

May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace!

Signed:
Chief Joe Agi, SAN
