Yes the Government may have their issues, but what is really the big deal?
You want to give your employer a platform of how he will pay you?
You want him to honour the agreement of 2019 agreement, which you know no government honours many promises or would we say fulfil 100% of demands.
You want them to renegotiate 2009 and abi 2013 MOU, and that's why you are striking, does it makes sense.
You say IPPIS, is not good because of the perculiarity of the university system, then sit with government and readjust the current IPPPIS platform and everyone is happy.

Well my guys, trust me, ASUU does not mean well for the students.
The government isn't working, that we know.
But if everyone turns up and says we are striking, nothing would make sense.
Why always the ASUU?
Trust me it's political and greed motivated.

Do you know the number of ghost workers that IPPIS fishes out. They said it has irregularities, that is very common with any payment scheme which would be readjusted with time.
A lecturer teaching in 3 universities and collecting 3 salaries, with poor contact hours with the students. That is just one example of many others.

Now ₦30 billion is ready to be shared with ASUU, NASU and SSANU, but ASUU insisted it be for then alone. Government agreed.
Where they are now, is which platform?
Government is saying, register on IPPIS and get the money, since UTAS they brought up isn't complete yet.
ASUU is saying No! UTAS is it. So whose at fault now?
FG is the fault cause UTAS has be n completed since but the FG is stalling it testing.

But the heading of this thread said "Crack in ASUU", I read through and did not see any crack! embarassed

That is FG Propaganda. Instead of solving the problem, they're only interested in being seen to be winning, while the problem lingers. See the endsars stuff. After requesting for representives of the youths, them don start dey arrest them. The treatment being meted on #endsars protesters is same thing ASUU has been going through over the years. Hence isn't trusting them. Who will trust these kind of government?

I pity the students.
For the lecturers, their withheld salaries could be paid in one day, as for the students it's a lifetime damage.

Consider the delivery of the lecturers too if the demands are not met. Low morale=low performance

Ekpekaycee:
The problem of the frequent ASUU strikes could be that in the previous years, when the strike have lasted for 3 to 4 months, the FG would be forced or blackmailed to make promises and sign MOU it knows it cannot keep and after a while, a fresh bout of strike will be called. But the way I see it, this time around, the FG may not be willing to be coaxed into making promises it cannot keep. If ASUU members are angry that even uneducated politicians are earning far more than them, ( they rightly should be , as ever other Nigerian is), but using strikes as an alibi is not the solution, rather let them join others to demand for total restructuring of government budgketing systems and enumerations.

Lol this your approach might not work out. If they don't use a drastic approach, they won't get answer.

It’s hard to fight nigeria govt only violence can take what you are agonizing for ASUU should wake up from the endless strike and take actions like the youths did or resume

See if government doesnt look for a way to increase non-oil revenue, they will keep failing.

Yes this government didn't sign that agreement but will they back out now when it's been signed?

If the Government of Late Musa Yaradua wasn't blackmailed and hand twisted into signing that agreement they knew very well they can't keep, do you think we will be going round this circles today?
Fact is, we've never really had 'good people in power' but if I were Buhuri, Chris Ngige, or the Minister of Education, I will sort out this mess once and for all no matter how long it takes

If there is a second wave of #Endsars protest, the Gov.t will do the needful.

You have to understand is that the people you are dealing with are not interested in education in this country. They are semi illitrates. They send their children to school abroad they don't really care about us and our children. ASUU think of the little ones whose growth they have stunted.

FG is very dishonest! They prefer to spend trilions on palliative than fix our universities cheesy
Pls don't allow those idiot to deceive u, a reasonable Nigerian Youth knows that ASUU is a big enemy of youth. They demanded their retirement age be extended to 75yrs as part of their previous strike and it was approved and u're depending the idiots. The word revitalisation of universities has no any place in reality; they only means their allowances not Universities infrastructure or learning environment. One of them stated that FG must honour individuals right and they should not be treated like Civil servants; what that statement means is they want use UTAS to be going to several Universities for visitation lecturing and be acquiring triple salaries in 3-4 Universities at the detriment of youth. Nigerians are very selfish and ASUU want use Nigerian corrupt system to corrupt the future of Nigeria and Nigerian Youth to the same trend Politicians have been looting us.
If you don't know pls know from today that the 2.5% deducted from Nigerian industrial revenue goes to TETFUND and TETFUND is fully responsible for the infrastructure and building of universities to the dream of ASUU. No any ministry in Nigeria has the budget that TETFUND amassed annually in their account!
Ask tertiary institution students or graduate including the state own institutions if our tertiary institutions can survive without TETFUND? How would they look like without TETFUND?
A single Lecturer is paid N40m Togo and do PhD in UK or US and instead of him to go to those countries he'll go to Malaysia or India and spend less than N10m and loot the remaining N30m, pls tell me is this not a corruption if not treated as treason?
Hundreds of lecturers from both state and tertiary institutions go abroad for these scholarships every year.
The big question is compare the TETFUND performance and the money students spend for their hostel maintenance and assess their impact or their proper utilisation?
Honestly, the youth need to wake up and know more about the damages done at all level in this nation instead of resorting to hate and bigotry, we need to have concrete ideology and purposeful leadership which is far away from ethno-religious polity.

All the time, their slogan is " the strike is for the interest of the University system" yet it always about salaries, areas, increment, etc

When will the system be sanitized?

Government come and go, ASUU leadership come and go....yet the system remain messedup

Since the 90's, after a long strike for the aclaimed interest of the system, it will be called off when both parties have found a common ground but the students who are always on the loser end return back to the bad system

We go dey OK las las

ASUU with their demands all the time, as if the Union itself is free from mess, you see one lecturer working for several universities with minimal input collecting different salaries, what about silly handouts they imposed on students, what about Sex for marks, what about money for grades...u Never hear of ASUU doin notin abt DT...
