Bonsoir,

Excusez-moi de vous déranger encore.

J'ai vraiment besoin de savoi si je peux demander un certificat de police (du Nigeria) depuis l'étranger.

Avez-vous des REX ou des contacts fiables?

Please, I need answer to the following questions.
1. If someone writes DELF at B2 and pass, will certificate be issued?
2. If yes, will the certificate have any advantage in Canada?
3. Can one omit DELF A2 ,B1 exam and write B2 and still get certificate issued?
4. Can DELF scores be used in place of TEF?
5. Can one register for TEF any time and write for B2 for example without writing A1 or A2?

Bonsoir,

A vérifier mais je ne pense pas du tout. Il faut passer soit le TEF Canada soit le TCF Canada pour l'entrée express.

I think that either TCF or TEF Canada is required for express entry. I do not know if there are other options. Experts here can help to confirm.

I would advise that you read page 1 of the main Express Entry thread. It contains the language exams that are accepted by IRCC.

I would also advise you read page 1 of this TEF thread to get more info about TEF and how it is structured and then read through the rest of the thread. You may also find the link below useful (translate to english on your browser). TEF is unlike DELF/DALF where you write specific levels A1 etc. In TEF, it's an exam (4 competences) and your results determine your level.

https://www.lefrancaisdesaffaires.fr/tests-diplomes/test-evaluation-francais-tef/tef-canada/

DELF and DALF are not accepted as language tests by IRCC for express entry nor will they count as a second certificate for ECA, as far as I know.

I am answering to the best of my knowledge.
1. Yes
2.Yes
3.Yes, however you may be given a placement test before taking it
4.No
5. The minimum level required to write TEF is B1. TEF is a proficiency test in four level: LRWS. DELF is an exam based certification in levels: A1-C2.

Hello bosses in the house. I want to study French and write TEF to get additional express entry points. I'm on 471, and will like to get additional 5 or 6 points. Now my questions.

If I get zero in speaking and listening, whilr scoring considerable points in writing and reading, will I not be disqualified from earning the points. I mean, is there not a least number of mark I have to get in the each module?

Cuz the strategy I want to employ is to focus on two sections on the exam for one or two months intensive study, especially the MCQ part.

Also, what's d tuition of Alliance Francaise like?

Greetings!

You're in luck. There is no disqualification - you score what you score.

AF tuition is ~58k for a 4 week term excluding books.

It's possible to get "side" points to make up 6 points. You need to be at premium level of focus and determination to pull it off in 2 months.

To have more than B2+/clb 7 in speaking, it is important to speak French as much as possible due to the fact that we are not in a francophone country.

We have got you covered, our tutor has written and passed TEF.

Our fees are also very affordable.

You can contact us on successintef@gmail.com and 09019483442

Yeah AF is long. Imagine me since January,
then covid struck. Would have even looked for personal tutor but I had already paid for A1.2.
Don't really have any experience with any other school. There's one my friend has but I don't know anyone who has finished there and done TEF. When i see i will come and recommend.
There are lots of personal tutors being recommended as the next good thing since sliced bread.
I saw one , Tef in 4 months, 120 euros per month lol. Dont even ask me how euros came about.
One personal teacher at 30k per month.
On enquiry about personal class, My AF teacher says 1k per hour for 6 months to go from A2 to Tef. And i go still buy the AF book and cd. Plus I think she said i go pay for Tef preparation class join.
See results of my enquiry at IEF as I posted above.
Maybe I will call tobidam to see if their rates have decreased. Like someone wrote here one time that if its a group they will reduce price.

Long and short, me sef I'm confused but if uts a school school, I still go with IEF. For tutors I dunno oh. Just ensure the rutor has written TEF and passed. Or find someone you trust who they have taught and who passed.

For now I'm enjoying revising my A1 and improving my Speaking. Its an individual choice based on pocket, how best you learn and how in a haste you are.

Frenchwithalexa is good too, can't recommend her enough. Awesome teacher but you will still need a teacher or someone to speak to.

Eniolakate:
Thank you so much for your response, Amylew.
I'm currently on A2.1 with AF but the journey is so long and more expensive. I heard that people do this same thing in 6 months! So why not give another school a try hence my request.

I'll do as you have advised. Thanks so much.

Any other school/tutor recommendations, please?

All we need is affordable services, unfortunately, everyone seems to be cashing in on our desperation to learn French and calling very unreasonable and unfriendly prices.

We sha no offend person, for the larger population of we learners, na old we old..
We're not asking for free service but that these guys have a bit of the fear of God in them. Money is only but ephemeral but the impact we make in people's lives will linger for eternity. If you know, you know.

Cc: All genuine comrades in this struggle.

Lol@ the statement in bold.

Bros, I'm not holding brief for any school or tutor but it's the economics of demand and supply. Assuming the number of well known reputable schools/tutors (AF, IEF etc) is fixed, the price charged WILL increase with an increase in the number of prospective TEF students.

Students then need to make a choice: bite the bullet & pay or self study with online resources (some are also not free) or look for other alternatives (old TEF students or good samaritans, this may work for those whose exams are a month away as a refresher but will definitely be sub-optimal for beginners, in my view).

I have heard yoruba people say, the soup that is sweet was made so by money.......meaning whichever way you look at it, this journey WILL cost you: in money, time, data etc. FACT. Y'all should re-read Ayandee's story of attending classes, going to work and nursing a baby. The struggle is real.

May I please refer any cash strapped newbies to the links under resources on page 1, especially the download of MANY books (including A1 material) that Njbybrthnly graciously provided (2nd link under resources).

This part is very key for anyone on this journey. The number of so called TEF standard french teachers is increasing as well as candidates being robbed of their money with nothing to show for it regarding their results. Like someone earlier said, a lot of this french teachers wont pass TEF if they were to sit for the exam. i know two persons who spent over 200k on lessons, yet the result couldn't even add a point to the candidate's crs

If you know you dont have so much cash to splurge, do a detail background check on your proposed tutor and ensure your are making the right choice for your time and money.

I just received my TEF results and I scored as follows Writing C1, Listening C1, Reading C1 and speaking B2 (279). I studied for 5 weeks and was confident I could do well as I had done French in secondary school and was one of the best students in French class. To study I used the tips I read here on Nairaland, Youtube, Prepmyfuture app and listened to TV5 everyday. I am very disappointed that I was given a low B2 score in speaking given how hard I practiced over the 5 weeks, I do not think my speaking is that bad as I can hold conversations with French speakers I meet. I have been informed that I can remark my exam. I want to know has anyone one successfully remarked any sections of their TEF exam? Thank you.

You did really well regardless of the CLB6 in Speaking.

You should be able to remark. I did in 2018 for €50 and got a response...no change in results. I understand from a friend that nowadays if there is no change in the results, CCIP may not communicate.

Hi guys

So ,I am planning to start learning french in January. For starters ,I will join AF classes and see how it goes. I have zero knowledge in french.Reading through the thread ,I downloaded some apps already .I started today with Duolingo.

I am 26yrs. I will be starting my WES evaluation soonest .I have two or more degrees . The last time I checked my score using CRS tool , I had 464.(IELTS =7.5)

I honestly want to leave naija Jan./Feb. 2022

So ,a part of me is thinking, I should not bother to learn French considering the kind of money and energy I will be putting in or minimum CRS score might reduce

Another part of me ,wants to put in all work and make sure I leave Nigeria lastest Jan./Feb. 2022 (God willing) and besides ,the CRS score might keep going up with different regulations and guidelines Also ,I am not fan of writing IELTS many times (cos , what if one never gets the desired results . English is tricky)

Putting all my conditions and criteria in mind , will you advise me to go and learn French?

Guys ,I need advice from you .I am a single lady.
