My Mum visa was rejected based on:photo below what do we need to do for her to reapply? She’s a retired teacher and she’s 61 years old

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by olajisunkanmi: 1:09am On Nov 10, 2020
She has 3million in her account as at the time she applied

Are you a citizen/PR/student/work visa in Canada?
Did you add your own bank statement to help bolster her financial capability?
When we applied for my mother she didn’t have up to what your mum had. We used our own bank statement to support hers (although my MIL has a registered business she runs sha).
I think the problem the visa officer has with the application is that she might not return so you need to show more ties she has in Nigeria (landed property, spouse/other kids etc)

Your journey starts here:

https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visa.asp

What's your travel history like? Are you married with kids? Do you have assets? How well is your current job paying?
Good travel history plus strong ties back home will prove you will return

You will submit your statement with your application, Canada is more interested in regularity of inflows that huge closing balance.

It might take up to 7months to get passport requests, so I advise you continue to run your account normally.

Thanks for your response. Below are my answers

What's your travel history like? Not regular, only 1 in the last 10 years and not outside Africa

Are you married with kids? Yes

Do you have assets? Yes

How well is your current job paying? Paying well and regularly

You will submit your statement with your application, -- Meaning i have to scan my statement?

I plan spending like 6 days, what range of money do i need to have as closing balance, can you suggest.

It might take up to 7months to get passport requests, will they hold on to my passport for that long? what happens if i was not able to get approval before the conference date? any compensation or will the visa still be granted?
so I advise you continue to run your account normally.
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by FYsol: 12:23pm On Nov 10, 2020
Yes. You will scan your statement and attach it to the appropriate place.

You will keep your passport and it will only be requested when your application is approved.

Even if the event has passed, once you qualify for a TRV you will still get it. The rationale is, you will need it for another trip. Canada usually grant the length of your passport.

can you suggest how much i need to have as my closing balance?

Also, im worried that i will later apply for Open work permit next year as my spouse will be going for postgraduate study, does the status of this TRV application has any effect on the decision when i applied for open work visa?

thanks

Not so sure. You may need to read the snapshot file again. it states that the application submitted ''prior to'' restriction will not be prioritized. prior to = before or earlier. All the best.

Infiosa:

Yes, non - priority applications are also being processed. See below url and snapshot.

So based on this your comment, I had to go to the bank to print out an account statement but it was exactly same as what I had printed out online. Depending on the bank sha, my banks online statement has each page stamped and signed.

Given the fact that visitors visa as far back as February have not been approved and bearing in mind that most people purpose of visit must have elapsed, what is the possibility that these visa will be approved after this long?

With experience?... Thats not one of the few refusal reasons, infact canada doesnt give visa for the stipulated period stated in your itenerary plan, they usually give long term validity visa, of 6 months stay at a time as regards TRV's. If you qualify you will be approved, you can always visit again.

What about work visa.
For application that was made in February, with employer job offer, by now,the job might no longer be available.
Can the person still expect positive approval

Hmmm..... Naturally, it shouldn't affect. Especially if the NOC code falls under the in-demand jobs category. Whats your NOC code BTW?
